My experience at the 'SKIN medi spa' was a very enjoyable and relaxing one. Therapist Brona Quinn greeted me at the door and took me through to my treatment room. She asked me to remove my shoes, lie up on the heated bed, and get comfortable, before my treatment began. Before she started she explained everything about the lashes and what she thought would suit me. I opted for a dramatic, long, full set and was very excited about the out come. I had heard scare stories of peoples own lashes falling out when they got these extensions, but Brona assured me that all the products she was using were completely safe to use, so I relaxed with a warm blanket while Brona got started.

The process was pain free and lasted about one hour 30 minutes. Brona first of all cleaned the mascara off my own lashes before she started to apply the extensions. Then she placed an anti wrinkle gel pad under my lower lashes to protect my delicate eye area. Brona then applied the lash extensions one at a time to my own individual lashes, using the correct amount of adhesive to achieve the perfect bond.

After the procedure, I opened my eyes and had new ‘wow’ factor eyelashes. Brona explained how to care for my new lashes and suggested that I come back in a few weeks to have them topped up, as this will ensure they last longer and stay beautiful.

The lashes are easily maintained, you really just have to be careful not to rub your eyes as they could fall out and for the first two hours after application they can’t come into contact with water or steam. Brona also advised to keep oil based products away from them as the oil weakens the bonds. The spa also sells mascara that you can use on the lashes, but you really don’t need it. Maybe for evening times when you want to make more of a statement!

I love my new lashes, I find them very easy to manage, and with being so light they feel like my own natural lashes. I would totally recommend eyelash extensions to a bride as they look fabulous and are practically maintenance free, so perfect for your wedding day and honeymoon.

Great for your big day especially if you shed a tear or two in the church you will have no worries about mascara running. Another plus is whilst on honeymoon you can be in the water as much as you like and still look great, not having to worry about mascara running or black marks under your eyes.
