One-stop-shop for making bridal dreams come true

Excited Irish brides-to-be, their fiancés, friends and family came out in their thousands over the weekend to enjoy the hotly anticipated Wedding Journal Show which ran in the City West Convention Centre, Dublin from Friday 14th until Sunday 16th January.

Over 300 bridal exhibitors packed out the Convention Centre transforming it into a wedding wonderland. Offering everything you could ever need for your dream wedding from bridal dresses, bridesmaids, groomswear, venues, photographers, cars, cakes, rings, honeymoons, stationery and much more. Exhibitor's showcased their latest products and services, offering fantastic offers and discounts to those lucky brides and grooms who booked on the day.

As popular as ever, the Wedding Journal Catwalk Shows drew crowds of excited visitors who flocked around the catwalk to catch a glimpse of the latest wedding dress collections, groomswear, bridesmaid and guest outfits from manufactures and bridal boutiques such as Benjamin Roberts, CT2, Mori Lee, Eddy K Bridal, Arnotts, My Day Bridal Wear, TM Couture, Myrtle Ivory, Jacques Vert, Lizzie Agnew, De Stafford Bridal, Ardee Bridal House, Two Birds Bridesmaids, Frilly Frocks, Ciara Bridal and Reflections.

Over on the Evening Herald style stage our gorgeous host Lisa Fitzpatrick wowed crowds with her styling tips and advice while make-up artist Nicole Plummer and hairdresser Carolyn Clinton transformed brides-to-be with make-over's throughout the course of the weekend. Mother of the Brides where also kept well informed with ideas and advice from Brand Director of Jacques Vert Ann Field who took to the stage and answered questions, flying over from London especially for the event.

The competition was stiff in the Best Stand award, but the judges eventually decided upon a winner, with De Stafford Couture picking up the award this year. Their stunning stand created an uber stylish setting to showcase their stunning gowns.

This year saw the launch of two very exciting new show features the Honeymoon Village and the Bridal Designers Area, both of which proved to be real crowd pleasers.

The Champagne Bar, provided this year by the City West, offered a welcome opportunity for visitors to sip on pink Champagne and cocktails whilst taking in the catwalk action.

Another highlight was the onstage finale of the Wedding Journal/98 FM 'You Can Hurry Love' competition. Yvette Kennedy & Kieran Reilly from Rathcoole, Dublin, where the winners of the amazing €30,000 wedding, which included a wedding reception for 100 guests at the City West Hotel, a luxury honeymoon at a Sandals Resort, creative rooms dressing from Got'cha covered, a Benjamin Roberts designer wedding dress from the Enzoani Collection, suit hire for the groom and bridal party from Blacktie, wedding rings courtesy of Martin Gear Jewellers, wedding flowers from the French Touch, photography with Nick O'Keeffe, wedding cake from Amazing Cakes, wedding hair and make-up package from Art Of Hair and finally wedding entertainment from The Bentley Boys.

The Wedding Journal Show will return to the City West, Dublin again in the autumn from the 23rd to the 25th September or visit our Belfast Show in a few weeks time from the 25th to the 27th February.
