Only a few hotels offer a ‘one wedding a day policy’ and yet most couples hate the thought of sharing their venue with another wedding. The solution is to hold your reception in a venue that can be hired exclusively for the day. Here’s WJ’s top choices...

LONGUEVILLE HOUSE, CO. CORK
An enchanting Georgian country house, Longueville House is a listed heritage building that’s bursting with character. The house is available for a minimum of 60 guests and a maximum of 110 throughout the year. Authentic Georgian architectural furnishings and features adorn every room and allow you to step back into the charm and splendour that was Ireland in the early 18th century, while the walled gardens make a wonderful photo opportunity.

Part of the charm and individuality of Longueville House is the homely, country house atmosphere offering a variety of dining ambiances. Dining arrangements are in The Turner Conservatory, The Presidents’ Restaurant and The Library all of which are interconnected. The house features 17 guest rooms and three suites, all off which must be booked for a wedding ensuring exclusive use of the venue.

COST: To host a wedding you must have a minimum of 60 guests and all 20 guest rooms must be booked. During the May – Sept, weekend weddings are only avaible for full exclusive weekend bookings. The house and restaurant must be booked out for the Friday and Saturday nights and an exclusive use fee of €2,000 will be charged. A four-course diner costs €60 per person. Guest room rate is €260 per room inc breakfast.

HILTON PARK, CO. MONAGHAN
Hilton Park caters for intimate, select weddings for up to forty people in the dining room. The house is staffed and catering can be arranged to suit. Exclusivity, total privacy and seclusion are guaranteed (the avenue is one mile long) along with a completely relaxed ambience in beautiful surroundings, inside and out. Hilton is the perfect place for a small wedding, with its grand, yet intimate atmosphere. The stunning grounds, gardens and lakes are ideal for those special photographs. Weddings are tailor made to suit the individual client. The house can also accommodate six couples with some space for children. Hilton is also a wonderful setting for photographs. Larger weddings can be arranged in a marquee.

COST: Prices start from €12,500 and include exclusive use of the house and gardens, two nights B&B accommodation for 12 people and a sit down dinner for up to forty people.
