Thousands converge on wedding wonderland
Northern Ireland brides-to-be were out in their thousands over the weekend as the autumn Wedding Journal Shows got underway at the King’s Hall, Belfast.
Â
More than 10,000 people converged on the huge Belfast venue to browse hundreds of stands and more than 250 exhibitors, offering everything from bridal dresses, groomswear, gift list ideas, venues, photographers, entertainment and car hire, to tepee tents, novelty photo booths, cupcake stands, exotic honeymoons, image consultants and stationery providers.
Everything you could ever need for your dream wedding was available at the Wedding Journal Show, with a lot of exhibitors offering fantastic discounts and competition prizes.
The Wedding Journal Catwalk Shows were as popular as ever and despite there being three shows each day, it was standing room only as the models and dancers strutted their stuff, showcasing the latest gorgeous creations from manufacturers and bridal boutiques including, Benjamin Roberts, Maggie Sottero, My Day Bridalwear, Parson’s Hire, Moss Bros, Red Groomswear, Isobel Love, House of Elegance, Creative Ideas Bridal, Bride ‘n’ Joy, Reflections Bridal Studio, Chantilly Lace and Lizzie Agnew.
Also on the catwalk throughout the three-day event was a wide range of entertainment including, Cameoflage, James Huish and the Ireland String Quartet.
The ever-popular Pamela Ballantine was back hosting the Belfast Telegraph Style Stage where make-up maestros Paddy McGurgan, Cathy Webb and bridal hair expert Stephen McCusker gave members of the audience amazing makeovers, spot prizes and expert advice on their wedding day look.
Â
Another highlight was the finale of the Wedding Journal/Citybeat, ‘Honey I Won The Wedding’ competition. Gillian Lyttle and Mark Allison from Lisburn walked away with an amazing wedding worth £25,000, which included a wedding reception for 100 guests at Jackson’s Hotel, Ballybofey, a luxury honeymoon courtesy of Tourism Fiji, a beautiful Hollywood Dreams wedding dress from reflections bridal Studio, Lisburn, suit hire from Red Grooms, Gold wedding planner service by David McConkey, room design by SBD Events, flowers from Floralearth, photography from Aurora Photographic Agency and a video package by Screencraft Productions.
The Wedding Journal Shows will be back at the King’s Hall, Belfast next year on February 25, 26 & 27. But if you can’t wait until then, pop down to the CityWest Hotel where our annual Dublin shows take place on January 14, 15 & 16.
