A wet start to Belfast's 2010 Wedding Journal Show didn't dampen the spirits of thousands of prospective bridal parties as the King's Hall welcomed over 10,000 enthusiastic visitors in search of assistance to create the perfect big day...
Over 300 exhibitors packed out the King's Hall transforming it into a vibrant and buzzing wedding wonderland. From stationery wizards to bridal stores, hoteliers, photographers and more, exhibitors showcased their latest products and services to a captivated audience while discounts were rife for those lucky brides and grooms to be who secured bookings on the day.
Caroline Mussen, the winner of Wedding Journal's Cover Bride took to the catwalk at the show on the opening Friday just before she appears on the front cover of the summer edition of Wedding Journal magazine. On the same day, WJs VIP ticket winners collected their fabulous goody bags and enjoyed a glass of bubbly in front row catwalk seats.

Some of NI's leading bridal fashion retailers wowed visitors with a stunning catwalk show that encapsulated a mix of sensational wedding gowns alongside sophisticated fashion for the mother of the bride and impeccable tailoring for the groom party. Deborah Rose, Moss Bros, Wish Bridal, Blush, Red, Hidden Secret, McElhinney's, Angelic Bridal, My Day Bridal, Parsons Hire, Divinity Bridal, Ian Stuart, Castle Couture, Angel Star Bridal, Reflections were just some of the names injecting style on the runway.
Excitement continued on the Saturday afternoon when five finalists for the 'win a celebrity-style wedding worth £30,000' competition took to the stage. The competition ran in association in with The Wedding Journal Show on Cool FM for three weeks and Breakfast Show DJ Kirstie McMurray hosted the live final.
Serena Kenny and her fiancé Barry Caddell were the overall winners, walking away with a wedding reception at Galgorm Resort and Spa, a honeymoon island hopping in Fiji courtesy of Tourism Fiji, room transformation by SBD Events and a wedding gown from Ian Stuart Bride.
Best Stand Award went to McElhinney's from Ballybofey for creating a gorgeous French boudoir setting in which a selection of its fabulous bridal gowns tempted brides to be.
Back by popular demand for the 2010 Belfast Show was the Champagne Bar where the skilled San-Greal bartenders entertained with their Cocktail style shaking skills creating a plethora of refreshing beverages for blissful guests who sipped their way through hundreds of Champagne flutes.
Also returning to Belfast was The Belfast Telegraph Style Stage, which proved to be a massive, hit. Hosted by local TV personality, Pamela Ballantine, the Style Stage became a centrepiece in the exhibition hall where crowds gathered to savour the handiwork of the style team made up of top hairdresser Stephen McCusker from Stephen International and make-up artist Cathy Webb. The gorgeous Mary Rose McGrath also gave wedding dress demonstrations throughout the weekend.
A great weekend was had by all in attendance at the February show spurring on the WJ team to set the wheels in motion for an even bigger and better October show!
