Thousands of brides from across the country turned out to find out about the latest wedding trends and make plans for their impending nuptials....

It may have been icy outside but the Wedding Journal team's hearts were warmed by the impressive turnout to the Cork Show. Arriving at Millstreet on January 24th, the two-day show was our biggest Cork event to date, with even more exhibitors and visitors than ever before.

Those in search of a New Year bargain weren't disappointed either, as exhibitors, from photographers, to florists, make-up artists and bridal stores, offered exclusive rates and opportunities to enter competitions throughout weekend event.

The eagerly awaited catwalk show was undoubtedly one of this year's show highlights. Spotlighting the latest bridal trends, this was one must see feature. Featuring local, national and international names the 30-minute performance, introduced by the fabulous Dolce Diva duo, was a veritable cacophony of style! Incorporating gowns for every kind of bride, there really was something for everyone on display, whether that be a super slinky bridal number, a princess cut frock or glamorous, jaw-dropping gown.

Viewers of the catwalk show were also treated to a sneak peak of British bridal icon Ian Stuart's private collection. The stunning Marie-Antoinette inspired dresses kicked the show off to a fabulous start and set the style-ometer on high.

No matter what you were looking for this show seemed to have it all - from amazing honeymoon destinations, to inspirational wedding design experts. Ireland's most sought after stationery companies, wedding entertainers, jewellers, menswear tailors and cake makers turned out to display their finest work.

A special congratulations must go to all of the lucky couples who took part and won competitions in the press in the lead up to the show, especially Irene Harrington and Simon Dow, the lucky winners of our Red Fm Competition, who won a reception in Balarney Golf Resort and Spa, a Benjamin Roberts Wedding Dress and menswear hire from Tom Murphy.
