Limos are luxurious, vintage cars have the cool factor and hummers ooze street cred, but if you want to really get tongues wagging on your wedding day, you need to arrive in a super sports car.

It's unlikely that you'll have a Ferrari, Aston Martin or Maseratti stored away in your garage so how do you get your hands on these wheels of style? The answer is to
hire them. There are several companies in Ireland that specialise in the hire of super cars and cars with a difference and all are happy to accommodate grooms looking for a way to add an extra edge to their wedding day experience.

One example is The F Experience, a company that offers you the opportunity to hire a chauffeur driven super car for any occasion to make it even more memorable. You'll be picked up at you door and driven to your destination in true celebrity style in either a Ferrari 360 Modena or a Aston Martin DB9.

"Our cars are a popular choice for brides who want to surprise their husband's-to-be on the morning of the wedding. The groom will be waiting for the standard limo pick up and I'll arrive in the Ferrari or Aston Martin, completely blowing his socks, off," reveals Rory Buchanan from The F Experience.

"We've also had grooms surprise the bride by whisking away from the church in one of the cars. Then there's the groom who books it for himself and the best man, the cars are loved by everyone."

Chauffeur driven, the Ferrari can carry one passenger and the Aston, one plus a little person and packages can be tailored to your needs as Rory explains: "We offer a half day or a full day package for one or both of the cars. With the half day we take the agreed parties to the church and place the cars nearby so guests can enjoy them and take a few pictures. Then we'll do a trip to the hotel or if the couple want the car(s) to be used in their pictures, that can be arranged.

"With the full day package, the car(s) are brought to the hotel and pre-selected guests are treated to a short trip on a chosen route. This is really popular with couples as a way of saying thank you to people who have helped them in the planning of the wedding."

In 2010 The F Experience plan to extend their range with a state of the art white Range Rover and are also considering adding a Bentley to the family. Prices start from £250 up to £2,000 depending on the location of the wedding and the journeys to be made.

Ecurie25 is another supercar club whose cars are available to grooms in the north and south of Ireland. A recent arrival to Ireland, members of the club can drive
prestige/performance cars at a fraction of the cost of ownership and single day hire is available for weddings and special occasions.

You can even opt to loose the chauffeur for the ultimate supercharged driving experience. Prices vary, a BMW M3 v8 would be approx £500 self drive whereas for a Lamborghini or Ferrari you would be talking £1000.

If new and shiny is just too flash for you, you can still look the part in a supercar with a past. Star Car Hire has a gorgeous Silver Aston Martin DB6. Similar to the DB5 used in the James Bond films, this 1967 Mk1 Aston Martin is classy, stylish and cool and yours for the day from £395. The car has recently been sprayed Silver Birch and has a beautiful black leather interior that can take up to three passengers. Use it to pick up your best man and take him to the church and then
