GIRLS star weds in handmade Oscar de la Renta
The character she plays on HBO’s hit TV show GIRLS may be unlucky in love, but Allison Williams has proved she anything but by marrying her partner in a stunning one-of-a-kind Oscar de la Renta wedding dress.
Allison Williams, 27, tied the knot with her partner of three years Ricky Van Veen, 34, in Wyoming last weekend, and everyone can’t stop talking about her stunning wedding dress. The petite starlet, who is famed for her role as Marnie in HBO series GIRLS, commissioned international designer Oscar de la Renta to create her gown and he did not disappoint.
The custom-made ballgown was almost entirely covered in handmade lace, and featured a sheer neckline and three-quarter length sleeves which were decorated by silk flowers. With her hair styled in a low, sophisticated bridal up-do and set with a flowing veil, Allison was the prime example of the blushing bride on her big day.
The wedding itself was a traditional affair with approximately 150-200 guests travelling to the West of the America to witness the outdoor nuptials, including celebrity ex-couple John Mayer and Katy Perry (who hinted that they might be getting back together with some not-so-sly PDA…). None other than the legend Tom Hanks officiated the ceremony and Allison’s news anchor father Brian Williams walked her down the aisle.
Allison and Rick announced their engagement in February 2014 and have kept fans guessing as to when they would get around to making it official. Allison’s Instagram announcement came as a shock to many, but since its posting a variety of aerial shots of emerged to showcase the gorgeous American wedding. Now we can’t wait to get planning an American countryside-themed wedding…
