How They Met
Matt spotted Kerri one evening in The Botanic In in Belfast, back in 2010. He asked to try on her stylish trilby hat, Kerri politely agreed to let him try it on, and the rest as they say is history!
This charming couple were together for four years before getting engaged.
Matt popped the question to a rather unsuspecting Kerri on a romantic trip to Cancun, Mexcio. He wrote ‘will you marry me’ into the sand, as they prepared to enjoy a romantic dinner on the beach. Matt even arranged for a local photographer to capture the moment for the pair to cherish.
The couple chose Ballymagarvey Village as their venue and plans were quickly set in motion for their New Year’s Eve wedding.
The young couple chose the The Fennell’s to capture their day, the pair ‘loved their style and the fact they are a husband and wife team.’ Keeping with traditional, the couple picked I Do Wedding Cars for their big day and McClean Family Music to create the romantic ambiance for the ceremony.
What The Bride Wore…
Kerri chose a stunning La Sposa dress, with lace and silk style, from Blush Boutique on the Lisburn Road.
The gorgeous bridesmaid dresses were also from Blush Boutique; a sparkling navy dresses perfect for Kerri’s winter wedding. The talented Olivia Muldoon and Claire O’Neill were the trusted hands behind Kerri’s stunning bridal makeup and hair.
Kerri knew exactly what she wanted in terms of decorations, table plan and everything in between, so chose not to hire a wedding planner or stylist. And didn’t she pull off the most stunning and magical day?
The wedding flowers for the day came from Norma, at Country Bumpkin, Bangor. Kerri chose an on trend unstructured bouquet, with a variety of flowers including pastel roses and sweet pea.
Their stationery was also created bespoke by the fabulous team at Ciara Patrick Designs.
Matt and Kerri chose duck for the top table, then beef and hake for the rest of the guests, finishing off with Mrs Osbourne’s warm apple crumble before cutting their cake made by The Cake Cuppery. ‘We wanted to make sure everyone loved the choices,’ they said.
After the dinner it was time to clear the floor and party with Just Adam Band until the midnight countdown surrounded by all their loved ones!
When asked about their highlight from the day, Matt said it had to be the New Year’s Eve countdown with family and friends. ‘It was a really special moment I’ll always remember.’
Kerri mentioned how her favourite part was the vows at the church and getting to spend some quality time together in the car on the way to the venue. ‘It was great to have those moments together to soak up everything that was happening!’
Their advice for other engaged couples is to ‘focus on what you want. The day goes by so fast and when you put your heart and soul into it, it’s great to be able to take it all in and know your hard work has all paid off.’
