Showstopping! Dublin Wedding Journal Show highlights
The Wedding Journal Show wows Dublin crowds with a catwalk spectacular, hundreds of exhibitors and a dream wedding giveaway…
It promised to transform the Citywest into a wedding wonderland and The Wedding Journal Show didn’t disappoint!
Bringing over 250 exhibitors together for a weekend of wedding inspiration, the show provided thousands of couples with the opportunity to plan their wedding with the help of Ireland’s top weddings suppliers.
Throughout the weekend the hall buzzed with excitement as thousands of couples set about planning their dream day. Newly engaged couples looking for a wedding venue were spoilt for choice with some of Ireland’s finest reception venues offering fabulous show offers on their new wedding packages – from stately castles to unique and intimate gastro pubs, there was a setting to suit everyone.
Brides-to-be looking for their wedding dress got exclusive previews of the new 21016 collections from Irish designers Tamem Michael and Edel Tuite with lots more bridal fashion inspiration from top bridal shops including Alice May, Smart Brides, Berketex Bride and Ciara Rose Bridal.
Three times daily all eyes turned to the main stage for the International Bridal Catwalk – a fabulous showcase of the very latest wedding dresses, grooms wear, and occasion wear, presented in a high tempo, upbeat show featuring world-class dancers and models. There really is no other bridal catwalk show quite like it!
Another highlight from the weekend was the Curvy Bride Style Seminar which drew a huge audience twice a day. Hosted by Siobhan O’Connor, models Kitty and Nikki looked stunning in the new Allure Women Collection designed for the fuller figured bride. Louise from Bridal Corner talked through the collection, with tips and advice for the audience on how to make the most of your curves on your wedding day.
A new addition to the spring show was the Entertainment Stage presented by Big Jolly Management. Anyone looking for a wedding band will have loved the opportunity to see live performances from leading artists The Just Adam Band and The Chancers.
We gave away a €25,000 wedding!
On Sunday afternoon you could feel the nervous excitement in the hall as eight lucky finalist couples took to the stage for the live final of the Win a €25,000 wedding in association with Xpose who filmed the event.
With prizes from Leixlip Manor & Gardens’ Kempinksi Hotel, Barbaros Bay Turkey; Alice May Bridal; Protocol for men, Rocks Jewellers and Finnimaje Photography, this really was a life changing prize and Clodagh Murray and Mick Lyons literally jumped with joy on stage when they were declared the winners.
