Irish DJ and former 2fm presenter Ruth Scott has opened up about her wedding day last month, revealing that it was an ‘absolute blast’ from morning to night.
Ruth tied the knot to her long-term beau Rob Morgan- the son of late Father Ted actor Dermot Morgan- in a beautiful ceremony at Bunratty Castle Hotel in Co Clare in July.
The bride and groom took a relaxed and laid-back approach to their big day, aiming for an intimate get-together with their closet family and friends. Ruth reveals she wasn’t your average stressed-out ‘bridezilla’ on the morning of the wedding telling the Herald:
“It was very relaxed. I only started to get ready about half past one. You hear about brides who get up at 7am to get their hair done, which sounds horrific”
She also revealed Rob became more of a ‘groomzilla’ while she remained chilled about the wedding plans!
The untraditional couple who have been together for five years, opted for a Humanist ceremony to mark their nuptials, with romantic poems being read out by close guests of the pair. A fun day was certainly had by all as Ruth revealed to the Herald:
“We had the best craic! Some people say they find their day difficult and they don’t enjoy it, but we had an absolute blast the whole day long”
The bride stuck to her un-traditional style and donned a beautiful champagne satin dress with embellished belt for her bridal gown, finished with a cream and yellow flower bouquet and her tousled hair let down.
Following the big day, Rob whisked Ruth off for a week of newlywed bliss for an idyllic honeymoon in the Austrian mountains where the couple have been sharing Instagram images of their travels with followers.
