Originally called St. John’s, the first part of the country house was built in 1789 and this area is now known as ‘Kate’s Room’. The original sliding sash windows still flood the room with light and open up views over the courtyard while guests relax by the crackling open fire.
Formerly an outbuilding for storing turf and logs in the 1800’s, the bar area is now at the heart of The Red Door experience. The original flag stones pave the floor and give a warm, authentic feel as your guests mingle on arrival and after dinner.
