Most brides would be content with one wedding dress, but five bridal gowns was the magic number for Chrissy Teigen.
The model, TV personality and social media fave married musician John Legend in 2013 and the pair have been considered a Hollywood power couple ever since. A snippet of their wedding day even appeared in John’s All Of Me music video.
Other than that we don’t know a whole lot about the big day. Except we’ve just learned that Chrissy bought five extra dresses for the occasion.
Earlier this week, a fan started a conversation about Chrissy’s shopping habits on Twitter, tweeting “One time I saw you at Barneys and you bought a Celine bag so you wouldn’t feel guilty about asking to use the bathroom. I knew I loved you before but that solidified it.”
Being the sound gal that she is, Chrissy replied to the fan saying, ”Wowowowow anyone that knows me knows this is very true all too often,” before sharing a message from a friend, who was recalling a similar shopping spree of Chrissy’s in a bridal store.
The friend wrote: “Sort of like that time you bought like 5 wedding dresses you knew you would never actually wear because you felt guilty about ‘just trying on dresses’ which is precisely the point of TRYING ON wedding dresses I love you.”
Okay, two things: 1. We’d love to be this rich. And 2. What happened to all those beautiful gowns? We know for a fact that Chrissy had three dresses all designed by Vera Wang on her big day.
In a later tweet, Chrissy confirms that her impulse bridal buys weren’t for keeps, writing, “THOSE WENT TO GREAT HOMES.”
Does this mean five lucky brides got to wear dresses worn and purchased by none other than Chrissy Teigen?! What a wedding day story that would be!
