If you haven’t yet figured out the perfect wedding venue, how about saying ‘I do’ in one of your favourite restaurants?

Although we are hopeful for the future, we are all aware that COVID-19 is still among us and affecting so many of our wedding hopes and dreams.  One good thing that’s come out of this pandemic is intimate weddings, which now has couples looking to their favourite restaurants for their wedding venue.

With good food, good décor, (and some wine of course), this can be the perfect option for any small wedding, packed full of character and personality. To help you choose, we’ve rounded up some of our favourite go-to restaurants in Ireland that would make for a stunning small wedding ceremony whatever your style…

The Anglers Rest, Co. Dublin

This hidden gem sits just outside Dublin city and provides a beautiful wedding location with their cosy open fires, elegant décor and welcoming staff. Your intimate wedding will take place in the Collins Room overlooking the stunning River Liffey, which will give you comfort as well as a fantastic backdrop for those all-important wedding photographs.

Sol y Sombra, Co. Kerry

This award-winning restaurant is a 200 year old restored church, making it the perfect venue aesthetic for a romantic and cosy intimate wedding. It also offers authentic Spanish cuisine which has made it one of Kerry’s much-loved tapas restaurants – what’s not to love!

The Barking Dog, Co. Antrim

This restaurant has everything you need for a character-filled wedding. Its mismatched furniture, chintzy crockery and quirky hanging frames will bring tons of personality to your day and sets a cool and casual vibe. It’s also home to ‘Belfast’s best burger’ and if that doesn’t convince you, we don’t know what will!

Cliff Town House, Co. Dublin

If you’re looking for luxury this is just the place. Hidden away in St. Stephens Green, this magnificent Georgian townhouse offers a unique and elegant wedding package with a full fine dining experience and glamorous décor and design – there’s a reason it’s one of the most sought-after venues in Dublin.

Ard Bia, Co. Galway

One of Galway’s most enduring restaurants, Ard Bia is the perfect blend of shabby chic and hipster realness with all the Irish charm you need for a cosy and intimate ceremony. Serving only the best of local produce and a wide-variety wedding menu, this venue ticks all the boxes for a laid-back and stylish ceremony.

Blairscove House and Restaurant, Co. Cork

This converted stable restaurant is a beautiful choice filled with character and charm, not to mention five-star table service. This is great for the couple who want a chilled, yet classy ceremony and you have the option of using either an outdoor marquee or courtyard to style as you like.

Jack’s Coastguard, Co. Kerry

This restaurant serves everything you need for a magical ceremony with top class food, quality table service and scenic sea views – what more could you ask for? The interior is a mix of old vintage charm meets sleek and modern décor, which will give you an elegant and comfortable feel whilst also providing beautiful backdrops for every snap!

Burtown House & Gardens, Co. Kildare

The Greenbarn restaurant at Burtown House is perfect for foodie couples who want a fairy tale theme with a contemporary twist. The historic setting includes a Georgian-style villa, The Green Barn and 12 acres of woods and gardens so you can get creative with your day (and just image the photos, eeek!)
