Ireland’s Most Stag-gering Golf Retreats
Ireland is home to some of the best golf courses in the world and they make for the ideal stag weekend for golfing enthusiasts!
We’ve collected our favourite resorts from across the emerald isle that all golf and Guiness fans will adore.
Royal Portrush Golf Club
Architect Harry Colt believes this championship course to be his finest work after he followed the natural contours and dunes for his design. This year it’s home to the 148th Open Championship, one of just four major title golf competitions each year. Golf legends of all ages will compete this July on the renowned Dunluce Links.
The location of the course, on the breezy Atlantic coast, makes for wonderful playing conditions like none other. You never know who you might bump into either, with professionals golfers such as Rory McIlroy, Darren Clarke, and Graham McDowell often spotted there.
Stags can stay at the Portrush Atlantic Hotel and enjoy a fun, relaxing evening at the Ramore Winebar before a night out at Kelly’s Lush club to relive your youth!
Killarney Golf and Fishing Club
Consisting of two stunning courses, Killarney Golf and Fishing Club sits at the mouth of Killarney National Park. The Killeen course hosted the 2010 and 2011 Irish Open and golf champion Padraig Harrington is a fan of the spectacular course.
The breathtaking 18th hole on the Mahony’s Points course is one of the most pictured in the world and has been become known as Heaven’s Reflex.
Stags can stay at Killarney Park Hotel and take advantage of the local eclectic nightlife. Don’t miss out on visiting McSorley’s, it’s the perfect spot for the ultimate stag-do.
Fota Island Resort
For those aiming to challenge their golfing technique, the three courses, Deerpark, Belvelly and Barryscourt, offer just that. Surrounded by gorgeous parkland and tall oak trees, golfers can put their skills to the test at the resort that hosted the 2014 Irish Open.
