Tell us a bit about yourselves?
Our venue is steeped in history, we can trace it back as far as the 1600’s when it housed the High Kings of Ireland and know since then it has been both a Paper Mill and a Linen Mill all before it took form as a hotel.
The history that flows through our iconic venue can be seen in the rich traditional features still on show, which compliment it’s now modern and contemporary décor and when coupled with the stunning setting provide a character and charm like no other.
We have proudly won Wedding Venue of the Year, County Antrim for 2 years running at the Northern Ireland Wedding Awards 2022 & 2023, and this would not have been possible with our dedicated wedding team.

Tell us about how you started getting involved with the Wedding Journal Show and how it’s been so far?
We have been involved with the Wedding Journal Show for many, many years now. It’s always a show we look forward to, for it’s atmosphere and wedding offerings. We love having a nosey around all the other suppliers, checking in on what trends are up and coming.
We think it is the perfect opportunity for us to meet many brides and grooms to be, it’s the perfect relaxed atmosphere for us to have a chat and answer any questions they may have about having their special day here with us.
And we can’t forget about our own wedding couples, it’s nice to have a catch up with them and see how they are getting on with their own wedding plans.
Could you explain a bit more about what you specialise in and what makes you different from others?
At Dunadry Hotel And Gardens we specialise in creating an unforgettable day for all couples who choose to get married at our iconic venue.
There are 5 main things that make us unique & special, which help us stand out.
- One Wedding A Day
The first up is our one wedding a day policy. We believe that our wedding couples deserve our undivided attention on their wedding day to ensure they get the day they have always dreamt off.
- The Cork Display
Next is our sought-after cork display.
The cork display here at Dunadry Hotel And Gardens has to be one of our favourite pieces of history, which keeps growing with every amazing couple who chooses us as their Wedding Venue.
It’s with great pride that we ask all our wonderful wedding couples to sign the cork of their champagne on their special day, which then proudly joins the collection we have gathered up over the years.
Our cork displays can be seen throughout the hotel, so it’s a heart-warming moment when many of our couples return years later to see their cork.
- Gardens
What sets us apart from many is our award-winning gardens & river walk.
There is an array of whimsical locations throughout our grounds, all which lend themselves to be the perfect backdrop for wedding pictures and ceremony locations.
Our internal garden is home to the iconic tree of peace and unity. A beautiful symbol of unity, as two large lime trees have grown together for over 100 years, where they now have become inseparable.
Take a stroll along the century old Mill Race and marvel at the soothing Six Mile River. Take a moment to sit by the riverbank before taking the white railed bridge to the Secret Garden. The Secret Garden has become a favourite with our wedding couples not only for their wedding pictures but for their wedding ceremony.
And we can’t forget about our pride of Peacocks; Picasso, Snowy and their 3 peachicks. They are known to photobomb a picture or two.

What are you most looking forward to this year?
We are excited to meet newly engaged couples, catch up with our wedding couples, and see the fabulous selection of suppliers.
We can’t wait to chat about all things weddings and help those planning their wedding create the day they have always dreamt off. Being part of the fabulous atmosphere, the wedding journal show creates.
What can brides expect this year?
We don’t want to give too much away but wedding couples can expect a lot from us this year, including a fabulous array of add ons that will help enhance their special day and brand-new wedding packages!
We can’t wait to finally show everyone what we have been working on.
Why should any couples go to your stand on the day?
Couples should pop by our stand on the day for a chat and giggle! Our friendly, welcoming wedding team love speaking to wedding couples about their special day and offering advice on all areas.
They also need to come and see what amazing décor our very own manager Jo has put together for our stand, and if it is anything like last year you don’t want to miss it. What makes it even better is that all the décor used will be available to all wedding couples as an add on to their wedding day with us.
They will also get to see our brand new packages and talk through any questions and queries they may have.
And, last but not least they will have the opportunity to enter our fabulous competition!
What will you be able to provide on the day?
We will be able to answer any questions or concerns the couples may have, regardless of what stage they are at in their wedding planning journey.
We also will be able to provide some inspiration for their big day today, helping them envision the day they’ve always dreamt of.
