Valentine's Day Food

They say the way to their heart is through their stomach, so we’ve a few food-inspired ideas for you to enjoy with your other half this Valentine’s Day!

Breakfast in Bed

Why not treat the love of your life to breakfast in bed! M&S have a ‘Love Sausage’ specifically created for Valentine’s Day. Designed for the two of you to share, this lightly truffled, bacon-wrapped pork sausage could be a fun, foodie start to your day! Be sure to serve up a cheeky Buzz’s Fizz with your ‘Love Sausage’ and start your Valentine’s Day off as you mean to go on!

Love Lunch

If you are both working and can’t meet up for a lunchtime quickie, why not treat the man in your life to a special working lunch full of tasty treats! Why not top of his favourite lunchbox salad or pasta with heart shaped bread,  throw in a few heart shaped chocolates for dessert – or a post-it detailing what he can expect to find at home for dessert later on!

How about few cheeky chocs in the lunch box!

Dinner Date

Surprise him with a cookery class. Venues such as Forestside Cookery School in Belfast and other cookery schools located across the island of Ireland, run regular classes and Valentine’s Day is a popular choice with couples who can enjoy cooking and eating what they have prepared together!

The couple that cooks together stays together!

Alternatively, book a romantic restaurant such as the Cliff House Hotel perched overlooking the Atlantic Ocean in County Waterford; steak and seafood restaurant Stix & Stones in Belfast where you can cook your steak on hot stones at your table or why not indulge in some fine dining at Chapter One in Dublin! We are certainly not short of good places to eat out in Ireland and no doubt the two of you have your favourite eatery.

Or, simply stay in just the two of you! In a recent survey by drinks company Boost, almost half (47%) said a ‘cosy night in’ would be just the ticket for them this Valentine’s Day – compared to the 11% who would like to go out for a nice dinner.

Get creative with your home-cooked eats!

So, whether a takeaway or home cooked meal, make your cosy night in extra special and add some atmospheric candlelight and a bottle or two of wine as you both chill out (maybe leave any discussions about your wedding planning and budget to one side!) just enjoy some quality time together!
