Stephen and Lesley Seawright’s story begins 22 years ago in 2004, amidst a lively group of friends where they first crossed paths. At that time, they were nothing more than just friends – no sparks, no romantic gestures, just a comfortable camaraderie among a tight-knit circle. As life often goes, the years rolled by, and they gradually lost touch, embarking on their separate journeys and building families of their own, each blessed with two beautiful children.
Fast forward to eight years ago, a chance encounter brought them back together during the festive Christmas season. Both recently single and out with colleagues, Stephen and Lesley felt an undeniable connection reignite. Their friendship blossomed anew, leading to an unforgettable evening at a Pink concert in London the following June.

The magic truly unfolded during a weekend getaway to Dublin, where Stephen had meticulously planned a surprise proposal at the iconic Guinness Factory. However, the day didn’t start without its hiccups – Lesley arrived to find her suitcase broken with a missing a wheel! As if that wasn’t enough, Stephen had to make a frantic dash back to their hotel to retrieve the engagement ring locked away in luggage storage.
Despite the morning chaos, the atmosphere at the Gravity Bar was perfect. With breathtaking views and a private area arranged by the management, Stephen presented Lesley with a cocktail adorned with the engagement ring. As he went down on one knee, cheers erupted from the crowd of delighted strangers who witnessed the romantic moment.

Following their engagement on 4th August 2021, the couple began planning their dream wedding. They visited the Balmoral Hotel shortly after, attending a wedding show and quickly falling in love with the venue. Choosing the closest Saturday to their engagement date, they booked for 4th August 2024, with the invaluable assistance of Fionnghuala and Sam from Personal Touch Weddings.
Their wedding planning was a collaborative effort, involving talented suppliers like Vincent’s Flowers, and Cali & Co for make-up. The couple won a wedding photography package from Cool FM and the Wedding Journal Show, a delightful surprise that added to their already magical journey. Tait Young Wedding Photo & Film onboard they were assured of capturing their memorable day.

As the big day approached, Stephen and his groomsmen donned suits from Balmoral Wedding Hire, embracing a Tottenham Hotspur theme with navy trousers and cream blazers. Lesley, ever the savvy shopper, found her stunning off-white dress and the bridesmaids’ navy blue dresses on Vinted, showcasing her knack for finding beautiful bargains.
The day itself was filled with unforgettable moments. Stephen’s heartfelt vows were inspired by a song from their favourite band, Journey. Although he had planned to sing them, nerves got the best of him, and he opted to speak them instead – a poignant moment that resonated deeply with Lesley. Meanwhile, Lesley cherished their grand entrance to the ballroom, choreographed to the ‘Mission Impossible’ theme, complete with indoor fireworks that dazzled their guests.

In a delightful twist, laughter filled the air when Stephen accidentally stood on Lesley’s dress, causing a comical tumble as they returned to their table. The couple, known for their playful spirits, ensured that their wedding was a fun-filled celebration, engaging their loved ones in a joyful atmosphere.
Their shared memories include countless visits to Lady Dixon Park, where they meticulously planned their photo sessions with Tait Young. From stunning shots in the oriental gardens to popping champagne by the fountain, every moment was beautifully captured, resulting in a treasure trove of memories.

As they reflect on their journey, Stephen and Lesley offer sage advice to future couples: ‘Relax and remember that the essence of this day is love. Choose reputable suppliers, take time for yourselves amidst the whirlwind, and savour every moment together. Enjoy the day; it’s in the hands of the professionals.’
With hearts full of love and laughter, Stephen and Lesley are excited to embark on this new chapter of their lives as husband and wife, forever cherishing the beautiful journey that led them to this day.
