We spoke to the wedding co-ordinator, Nicola McGinnity, who told us how The Four Seasons Monaghan won Hotel Venue of the Year Ulster 2021 with Weddings Online and what new exciting renovations you can expect to see.
“I think a lot of it comes down to the service we have here, and we find a lot of our wedding couples have been at previous weddings here before and loved it,” she says.
“We have been helping people create their perfect day for over 50 years now so a lot of it has been coming down to our reputation both in the area and farther afield.

“We have a one wedding per day policy so you can get the full attention of our wedding team to have a day truly all about you, and our level of service, quality and food is next to none.”
Nicola also tells us about the new outdoor dining area The Terrace which has become a hit with locals, with its stylish renovation and cosy ambience.
“We opened The Terrace for the first time in June,” Nicola says. “It’s a new outdoor dining area which has been the main investment in the last few months.
“We always have something new happening and we’re keeping on top of things and reinvesting in keeping the hotel fresh – and the new terrace area is the perfect place for a relaxing meal outdoors.

“It’s great for the summer weather and we’ve made it really cosy as well with heating, blankets and cushions and some cover and it’s very popular among locals! We’ve actually had a lot of our couples coming down and having their dinner there and stay the night.”
The Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan has a busy year ahead when it comes to weddings and is looking forward to welcoming an array of large and small ceremonies in the coming months.
Nicola continues: “It is looking busy – most of our couples are going ahead with their weddings and we do offer a plan B option if things don’t go their way with restrictions, but most people are excited to get back wedding planning and are looking forward to having their dream day with us.
“We cater for both big and small weddings and have lots of enquiries ranging from 50 people to 300 people. We have found that in the last couple of months people have been opting for smaller weddings, but we are now seeing average numbers again and people are planning for the day they want – but we always offer a back-up solution if that isn’t able to work when the date comes.”
You can also start your romantic journey in the newly renovated Sakura Suite, decorated in delicate pinks and pastels to create the perfect backdrop for your civil ceremony.
The Limewood suite is also a wedding favourite at The Four Seasons Hotel Monaghan with a stylish interior, cosy atmosphere and all the necessary amenities.
Laura says: “The Sakura Suite is very popular for civil ceremonies and is decorated beautifully and is a very romantic room where we host a lot of civil ceremonies or couples who are having a second day party!
“Our exclusive Limewood Suite is a completely private pre-reception area for you and your wedding guest where you have everything under one roof to make it easier to mix. It also leads into our Seasons Suite, which is draped in elegance and sophistication, adding to a romantic and intimate feeling.”
