Winter Wedding Trends: Bold & Beautiful

A winter wedding is the perfect time to add some dramatic colour whether a daring fuchsia or a bold burgundy.

Beautiful, rich colours would not only look great for bridesmaids but also for the groom and his groomsmen. If it’s an elegant black-tie affair, a strong pink alongside black and white would also look amazing. Similarly, if your wedding dress is a bright white, a pop of deep pink would look fabulous against it. For grooms and groomsmen who prefer to wear winter tweeds and earthy colours, a burgundy or claret bridesmaid would perfectly complement this – and the same could be said for brides who prefer to wear an ivory gown.

Bridesmaids

(L-R, Style 6234 Merl from Dessy, Ifigenia from St Patrick Special Occassions, Style M770 from True Brides, Style 5389L from Kenneth Winston, Style 910234 from Theia, Style 9332 Ruby by Jenny Packham for Dessy)

Rich jewel tones are perfect for winter bridesmaids and we are loving the depth of colour from striking fuchsia pink gowns to deeper claret and burgundy tones. Not only will these colours add a richness to your bridal party, but they also lend themselves to striking floral bouquets full of warmth and colour.

The Little Ones

For the little ones, when it comes to this colour less is definitely more! Young flower girls will look cute and co-ordinating with burgundy in dusky pinks or let them wear white and add fuchsia with a cute floral belt or headband.

Finishing Touches

Co-ordinate your accessories with similar hues such as dark burgandies, plums and purples. For your shoes, contrast the dark shades with lighter colour such as pale pink, rose gold and champagne.
