The wedding world is spinning again and we’re seeing a huge shift in trending dress styles for 2022 as Divinity Bridal share their new exciting collections coming to the Lisburn boutique – and we’re already obsessed!

Shellie Watsons tells Ireland’s Wedding Journal how fashion for the aisle is becoming more important than ever with more brides becoming adventurous and creative with their style, which is exactly what these new collections are giving us!

Shellie says: “We are so excited to have so many dresses arriving over the coming months. In particular our 2022 collections from Étoile by Enzoani (now Elysee) and Gaia Bridal. Both collections are insane and we have scheduled Trunk Shows for both! Our beautiful brides can see the full collections instore during these events.

“The Gaia Bridal 2022 Trunk Show is planned for 5th-7th Nov and the Etoile 2022 Trunk Show is booked for December 4th, with a further Étoile show booked for 26th Feb ‘22, for anyone who couldn’t make the December event. Brides will also receive a fabulous 20% off during both events!

“We also have our very own stunning collection instore that has been designed specifically for our Divinity brides and is completely exclusive to Divinity. These gowns will not be photographed and you won’t find these on social media, which for me, adds to the exclusivity that every bride should feel when choosing her dream gown. If you would like to try this absolutely beautiful collection, you’ll need to book in!”

And it seems that the never-ending lockdowns may not have been such a bad thing (hear us out!) as Shellie tells us brides are now choosing to go all out with showstopping styles and dramatic designs.

“I do find after lockdown, rather than people planning smaller downsized weddings like they were before, a lot of people are going all out there for their wedding, and that includes the style!” Shellie says.

“Brides are really loving the more textured dress with lots of 3D Florals and blush colours – they’re becoming slightly more adventurous with boho styles becoming even bigger, and a lot of the new collections have lots texture and pattern in the fabrics.

Gaia Bridal 2022 Collection – Coming soon to Divinity Bridal

“There was a real trend for the plainer dresses recently and they’re still around, but we’re definitely see a shift towards more pattern and more drama but in a boho kind of direction rather than a princess look.

“Glitter tulles are also coming through with a subtle sparkle underlay – there are a couples of gowns which are really glittery and some in my own collection, but there are definitely more showing the sparkle tulle underneath which gives you that soft shimmer without it being too much.

“Everyone loves sleeves on wedding dresses, but the wee flutter sleeves are fabulous and are getting more and more popular.”
