Sharon McMahon from the Hillgrove Hotel and Spa tells us all about what brides and grooms can expect to see from their newly decorated suites to their gorgeous intimate gardens.

She says: “The open day runs from 2pm – 5pm and people will get a chance to view the newly renovated Van Gogh Suite where everything is brand new and fresh for the perfect wedding setting!
“It’s decorated very modern and elegant with lovely drapes, fairy lights and clean colours as well as beautiful floral centerpieces and décor.”

“Our wedding gardens have also had a makeover, and are romantic and intimate gardens which work really well for civil ceremonies or a pre-drinks reception or even a barbeque the next day if the weather is good!”
It looks like a wedding boom is approaching with many couples planning ahead for 2022 and 2023 in the hope that restrictions will not affect their perfect day.

Sharon continues: “From the 6th August they are now allowing weddings of up to 100 to take place and people are planning ahead for their big day – we are actually getting a lot of enquiries now for 2022 and 2023.
“A lot of brides have had to put off their weddings until 2022 so we are very restricted to the number of weekends we have available at this time and there are very limited spaces.”
Whether it’s a civil ceremony, humanist or spiritual, Hillgrove Hotel and Spa cater for every wedding from numbers big and small with their wide range of packages and one wedding per day policy.
Sharon says: “One of our most popular packages is ‘The ‘I Do’ All-Inclusive Package’ – the beauty of this is that we have a list of bands, photographers, flowers and cakes that are all part of the package.
“For the bride and groom who wants a little less planning pressure on them, this is a package I would definitely recommend!”
Hillgrove Hotel have also been a hotspot for wedding weekends and minimoons with many attractions such as the Lir Spa, luxury suites and local gems – making it the perfect staycation.
Sharon says: “We definitely didn’t sit still during the pandemic – all areas of the hotel got a retouching to welcome every back with a fresh start! We are a family friendly hotel, so we have also completely revamped our kid’s area and cinema room.
“A lot of people who wanted to go abroad are instead choosing somewhere at home and we are seeing many couples making their wedding into a weekend celebration or minimoon with our lovely spa, location and suites being a main attraction.
“Our luxurious Lir Spa & Wellness Centre is the ultimate way to relax and unwind with gorgeous facilities and spa treatments. Another big attraction would be Castle Leslie Estate – it is beautiful, and we are so lucky to have Rossmore Forest Park on our doorstep as well for beautiful scenery, walks and lakes.
