Style fans are loving the first glimpse of the Twilight actress as she plays the People’s Princess in the forthcoming Diana biopic.

Twilight star Kristen Stewart appears in a replica of one of the world’s most iconic wedding dresses in the first full trailer of Princess Diana biopic Spencer.

The actress sweeps through winter trees in the legendary Emanuel designed dress in what may be a flashback or dream sequence in the acclaimed movie.

The original gown, which recently went on display in Kensington Palace, features a spectacular sequin-encrusted train, which at 25 feet filled the aisle of St Paul’s Cathedral and remains the longest in royal history.

Designed by the Emanuel studio, it features a scooped neckline and large puffed sleeves trimmed with bows and deep ruffles of taffeta, a style popularised by the Princess in the early 1980s, and the full skirt is supported upon a mountain of stiff net petticoats to create that famous silhouette.

Fans are already obsessing over the style in the new movie as the late 80s and early 90s styles make a return including oversized collars, pearls and mid-length skirts.

The film, directed by Pablo Larrain, is set over a weekend in 1991, during a Christmas holiday in which Diana decides to end her marriage to Prince Charles.

In a recent interview, Stewart says she felt Princess Diana’s presence on set while filming the biopic, telling the LA Times: “ I felt some spooky, spiritual feelings making this movie. I felt like there were moments when I kind of got the sign-off.

“It’s scary to tell a story about someone who’s not alive anymore and who already felt so invaded. I never wanted to feel like we were invading anything, just that we were kind of adding to the multiplicity of a beautiful thing.”

The biopic is already receiving rave reviews from critics, with Stewart being hailed for her performance in the iconic role.

She received a three-minute standing ovation during the premiere at the Venice Film Festival, and has been named by Variety as a possible Oscar contender.

In the dramatic new trailer, Diana arrives late for the festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate to endure three days with the extended royal family.

“Mummy, what’s happened to make you so sad?” a young Prince William asks. She responds: “Here, in this house, there is no future. Past and the present are the same thing.”

The trailer sees Prince Charles tell his wife: “There has to be two of you. There’s the real one, and the one they take pictures of.”

Stewart, as Diana, states: “There’s no hope for me. Not with them.”

Stewart performs alongside Jack Farthing as Prince Charles, Stella Gonet as the Queen, Timothy Spall as Equerry Major Gregory, and Sally Hawkins as Diana’s staff member and ally Maggie.

The official synopsis from production company NEON says: “The marriage of Princess Diana and Prince Charles has long since grown cold.

“Though rumours of affairs and a divorce abound, peace is ordained for the Christmas festivities at the Queen’s Sandringham Estate. There’s eating and drinking, shooting and hunting. Diana knows the game.

“But this year, things will be profoundly different. Spencer is an imagining of what might have happened during those few fateful days.”

Style fans were wowed by the variety of outfits worn throughout the movie, including a beautiful white ball gown, yellow skirt suit and green plaid cardigan teamed with jeans.

Stewart revealed during a press conference that she was given information from royal insiders about the reality of Diana’s day-to-day life.

“The movie doesn’t offer any new information,” she said.

“It doesn’t profess to know anything. It imagines a feeling. I think my impression can only be my own. But Diana was a woman who wanted people to come together and I think that this movie’s ambition is to bridge gaps.”

Spencer is released in the US and UK on 5 November 2021.

Images from Lady Kitty Spencer’s wedding have just dropped, showing her extravagant Italian ceremony in which she wore not 1 but 7 showstopping Dolce & Gabbana dresses!

We love a good royal wedding here at Ireland’s Wedding Journal and we knew to expect nothing less than a fashionable extravaganza from model Lady Kitty Spencer’s wedding to retail businessman Michael Lewis.

If you’re a bride looking for some wedding style inspiration or just curious to see what all the fuss is about then you’re in the right place – so let’s take a closer look at the Roman nuptials and statement styles from the latest royal wedding.

The ceremony took place on Saturday 24th July and gave us everything we wanted from the ultimate fairytale wedding with a ceremony in an Italian castle, not to mention seven breathtaking dresses!

Of course, it helps when you happen to be a global ambassador for the one and only Dolce & Gabbana who carefully crafted a number of exclusive handmade gowns for Kitty to wear over her three-day celebration.

Our royal bride kicked off the party with a bright and colourful illusion baby-blue tulle gown featuring cross-stitched embroidered flowers for the eve of her wedding.

She then chose a unique Victorian-inspired gown for her ceremony which echoed her mother’s own wedding dress. It featured an intricate floral lace detailing, high neckline, corseted bodice and long sleeves with statement shoulders.

However, unlike her mother (and her aunt Diana), she chose not to wear the Spencer family tiara on her wedding day. Instead, the bride wore a dramatic cathedral-length veil matching the exquisite lace on her gown and carried a small posy of sweet pea.

Following the ceremony, Lady Kitty Spencer changed into a double organza hand-painted silk gown, embellished with flowers and crystals, for the reception.

To finish off the night, the bride changed for a third time to dance the night away in a Dolce & Gabbana cocktail dress embroidered with silver and golden beads.

The day after her wedding, Lady Spencer wore her final custom look – a Mikado silk dress with cutwork inserts, embellished with tiny sequins, appliqué flowers and ribbons.

The iconic gowns are shown in a video posted on Instagram by Dolce & Gabbana, highlighting how each dress celebrated “the beauty of the bride, the passion for Alta Moda and the absolute joy of the occasion.”

The royal wedding celebrations began on Friday night with a dinner party at the exclusive baroque restaurant in Rome Galleria Del Cardinale, before the sunset wedding ceremony on Saturday, held at the Villa Aldo Brandini.

After the ceremony, guests were treated to a luxurious reception dinner decorated with blooms and golden table settings with hand-written place cards and napkins adorned with Kitty and Michael’s initials.

A lit-up dance floor surrounded by floral arches awaited the newlyweds for dancing and to finish off the night the guests were wowed with an extravagant fireworks display.

It’s probably one of the best known wedding dresses in the world and is attracting a steady stream of curious visitors after going on display in Kensington Palace. We look at Princess Diana’s iconic wedding dress – and the princess-style ballgowns that are on offer right now.

It was the wedding dress that won hearts all around the world – and now the gown worn by the late Princess Diana is making headlines all over again.

The stunning gown worn by Diana, Princess of Wales at the Royal Wedding to Prince Charles in 1981 has gone on display at Kensington Palace, complete with its spectacular sequin-encrusted train, which at 25 feet filled the aisle of St Paul’s Cathedral and remains the longest in royal history.

The dress, designed by the Emanuel studio, features a fitted bodice, overlaid front and back with panels of antique lace. Its gently scooped neckline and large puffed sleeves are trimmed with bows and deep ruffles of taffeta, a style popularised by the Princess in the early 1980s, and the full skirt is supported upon a mountain of stiff net petticoats to create that famous silhouette.

To bring the story of the gown’s creation to life, Diana’s dress has gone on display alongside items from the Emanuel studio – from the working paper pattern used to cut each piece of fabric, to the bolt of lace used to decorate the gown’s sleeve – as well as Emanuel sketches for the Princess and a Garrard gouache painting for the sapphire and diamond ring she selected upon her engagement.

RELATED TO: The 10 Most Expensive Wedding Dresses In The World

The dress has also been reunited with Diana’s going away outfit for the first time in 25 years – this cantaloupe silk day dress and matching bolero jacket with white silk organza collar was designed by Bellville Sassoon.

The exhibition, Royal Style In The Making, reveals that David Sassoon had adapted an existing design that the Princess admired to create the bespoke outfit for her – two jackets were created, a fine-weather version with short sleeves and another with long sleeves, in case of bad weather.

RELATED TO: Royal Wedding Dresses On A Much Lower Budget

First worn on her wedding day, the ensemble went on to become part of the Princess’s working wardrobe – she would wear it in Australia in 1982, and to open a hospital in Grimsby in 1983.

As for the dress itself, it was traditional that royal wedding dresses showcased British made materials, so silk specially woven in Suffolk by Stephen Walters & Sons Ltd was used to make the heavyweight taffeta that gave the full and dramatic silhouette.

Meanwhile, the lace, inspired by Queen Mary’s antique lace, was made by Roger Watson Laces in Nottingham and was hand-embellished with pearls and sequins, a process that took so long Elizabeth Emanuel asked her mother to help.

The dramatic silhouette of the dress is a bit too over the top for modern tastes, but many dresses at the moment feature a huge princess ballgown skirt, or a long train, or elaborate sleeves – just not all at once!

So if you have a hankering to dress up like a princess on your wedding day, don’t be shy. Feel free to make the statement you want – after all, it’s your big day!

Here are a few of our favourite next-season wedding dresses that will have you sweeping down the aisle with aplomb.

Our Favourite Princess Wedding Dresses

The ultimate fairytale wedding dress – this A-line silhouette uses floral layered laces to create a romantic semi-sheer bodice and a sweetheart neckline, with lace trickling onto the tiered glitter tulle skirt. Maddie by Sophia Tolli (Style Y22062) from Amsha Bridal.

This spectacular gown in Mikado and tulle makes a real statement – and harks back to the 80s – with its architectural bodice, dramatic folds and geometric peplum, contrasting with an underskirt in layers of butter soft tulle. Yakima by Pronovias, from Romantique Bridal.

Unlike Diana’s gown, this is a lightweight A-line dress with a corset bodice beneath a soft tulle outer layer and skirt. Divine Juliette-style sleeves, rich embroidery and sequin detailing over the yoke and cuffs confer a princessy vibe. Treme by Pronovias, from McElhinney’s of Ballybofey.

It’s all about the statement sleeves! This showstopping Mikado ballgown features eye-catching blouson sleeves, a high collar and plunging neckline. Style 69617 from Ronald Joyce from McElhinney’s of Ballybofey.

Guests won’t know what to look at first, from the romantic lace bodice to the showstopping princess skirt with layer upon layer of tulle. The look is completed with a plunging neckline and cinched waist with lace panels – not to mention the long floating train. Tuset by Rosa Clara, from Angel Star Bridal.

Be yourself with his boho inspired lace, organza and embroidered tulle gown with stole, modesty bodice and beaded waist. Style 18507 by Victoria Jane, from McElhinney’s Of Ballybofey.

Exclusive new details from Princess Beatrice’s wedding have just been released – here’s everything you need to know from the dress, the flowers and all the royal inspo!

Princess Beatrice got married during the pandemic where she wore a stunning vintage gown borrowed from The Queen herself…

With new details finally being released to the public, we’ve rounded up everything you need to know about their intimate ceremony including dress and flower inspo.

Wedding Wardrobe

Princess Beatrice wore a vintage dress by Norman Hartnell gifted to her by none other than her grandmother, The Queen herself. The dress was modified with organza puff sleeves and is made from Peau De Soie taffeta in an ivory shade with an embellished bodice.

Her diamond fringe tiara also holds sentimental value as it was originally designed for The Queen who wore it back in 1947 for her own wedding to Prince Phillip.

The famous dress is now on display at Windsor Castle – Beatrice took to twitter saying, ‘It was an honour to wear my grandmother’s beautiful dress on my wedding day, I hope many of you are able to visit the exhibition which is still open at Winsor Castle.’

The Flowers

Princess Beatrice walked the aisle with a stunning bouquet of trailing jasmine, pastel pink and cream sweat peas, pink o’hara garden roses, royal porcelain ivory spray roses, pink wax flower and baby pink astilbe.

She also stuck to royal traditions by including springs of myrtle in the bouquet and arrangements. The bouquet was crafted by Patrice Van Helden and RVH Floral Design and matched the beautiful flower archway at the chapel.

Beatrice did veer from royal traditions in one way by adding a pop of colour in her bouquet with a pastel pink theme. Many royal brides tend to stick to a more traditional and neutral colour scheme with cream and whites colour for flower arrangements, but we’re loving the baby pink vibe which is perfect for a summer wedding!

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi held an intimate wedding on 17th July last year, inviting only close family to the celebration.

After postponing their first wedding date back in May, the two decided to keep the day small with parents and siblings and kept within the government guidelines for a Covid-safe ceremony.

Their original venue at Chapel Royal in St James’s Palace was changed to The Royal Chapel of All Saints in Royal Lodge, Windsor, where they exchanged vows with The Queen in attendance showing her approval of the marriage.

Princess Beatrice’s wedding certificate has just made history with it being the first to ever include mother’s details – before the 3rd May this year, the mothers’ details were not included in marriage records, but now up to four parents can be added to the certificate, including step-parents.

This new rule will apply to all brides and grooms in England and Wales, who for the first time can have both parents added to the wedding register. The Home Office announced the changes to the Marriage Act on 4th May, saying it will ‘correct a historic anomaly’.

Another Royal wedding is just around the corner, with Buckingham Palace confirming Lady Gabriella Windsor’s wedding on 18th May 2019.

Love is in the air with all the young Royals, with the Queen’s grandson Prince Harry and granddaughter Princess Eugenie tying the knots with their respective partners, Meghan Markle and Jack Brooksbank in 2018. And now it’s been revealed another Royal wedding is just around the corner, between Lady Gabriella Windsor to financier Thomas Kingston.

Getty Images

In the statement released by Buckingham Palace in September 2018, Lady Gabriella’s parents wrote ‘Prince and Princess Michael of Kent are delighted to announce the engagement of their daughter Lady Gabriella Windsor to Mr Thomas Kingston. The engagement took place in August; Mr Kingston proposed on the Isle of Sark.’

While the wedding is taking place at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, the same as Prince Harry’s and Princess Eugenie’s, it’s going to be vastly different from these big affairs. While they were televised and public events – this wedding is going to be a lot more intimate and private, with no carriage procession or the public invited. The reception will take place at Frogmore House.

It’s taking place on 18th May 2019, close to Harry and Meghan’s anniversary, with only family and friends invited, including high profile members of the family expected to attend. But while Lady Gabriella is a second cousin to the Queen, she did not attend her brother’s wedding, Lord Frederick Windsor, in 2009, so it is unsure whether the Queen will be in attendance.

Getty Images

Thomas Kingston dated the Duchess of Cambridge’s sister, Pippa Middleton, but it ended on good terms, with Lady Gabriella and Thomas attending Pippa’s wedding in 2017, so it is likely Pippa will be in attendance to their big day too.

We can’t wait to see photos!

With wedding season just around the corner, Harry and Meghan’s wedding florist has released new bridal accessories just in time.

Floral crowns have been popular for brides for a number of years now, then last year saw the rise of guests wearing floral head pieces to weddings. Philippa Craddock, the florist who decorated Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day, has caught on with this trend. She has released exquisite faux flower headbands that will turn a few heads without taking away from the bride.

Not only are there headbands, buyers can also get their hands on faux flower brooches, perfect for when the hair is up! We wouldn’t be surprised if we see the trendy Duchess of Sussex sporting the new pieces during her royal engagements!

The prices range from £150 to £1,700 and they’re close to selling out on Matchesfashion.com, the website that stocks this range. On Philippa’s own website, she took ‘inspiration from British country gardens, with flower beds full to bursting with hydrangeas, dahlias, roses and delicate blossoms from the orchard trees.’ It also states that it all started by looking back to ‘centuries-old botanical illustrations housed in museum archives.’

Take a look at the collection below!

From subtle to dramatic, these headbands will certainly add a lot to an outfit, especially a plain one. Brides will love the romantic white flower headband too.

In an interview in the September issue of British Vogue, Eugenie let slip that the entire wedding would be plastic free, in keeping with her environment and charitable work: “my whole house is anti-plastic now, and Jack and I want our wedding to be like that as well.”

Plus, unlike the Duchess of Sussex’s wedding, the event will extend to Saturday, with reports that there will be a festival with a fairground and afternoon tea.

Who is Jack Brooksbank?

Eugenie has been dating 31-year-old party fixer Mr Brooksbank for around seven years.

The Stowe-educated socialite was the manager of Mayfair hotspot Mahiki – a favourite haunt of Prince Harry and Eugenie’s sister Princess Beatrice.

He is now the UK brand ambassador of Casamigos Tequila, which was co-founded by actor George Clooney.

It’s reported that Jack is an impressive skier and the pair met through mutual friends while on a ski-trip to Verbier.

Eugenie, in an interview with the BBC’s One Show, noted that her grandmother was one of the first she shared the news with. ‘Granny actually knew right at the beginning. She was one of the very few people right at the beginning.’

The Duke of York, father of Princess Eugenie, said he was “thrilled”, calling his future son-in-law an “absolutely outstanding young man.”

Sarah, Duchess of York – Princess Eugenie’s mother and the Duke of York’s former wife – shared a series of private shots of the young couple, with thoughtful words of encouragement and support for the pair.

Who will be taking part in the big day?

Princess Eugenie announced that her older sister Princess Beatrice will be her Maid of Honour, as expected, the pair are so close, and who doesn’t want their sister standing beside them at the alter.

Prince George is reportedly due to be a pageboy at the wedding, alongside Princess Charlotte as flower girl. The troublesome but adorable duo took part in the wedding of the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, and their Aunt Pippa’s Wedding.

The five year-old daughter of Robbie Williams, Theodora Rose, is reportedly also be a flower girl at the wedding; the singer and his wife, Ayda Field, have been friends with Eugenie and her sister, Princess Beatrice, for several years and will both attend the wedding.

The Reception

After the 11am ceremony, the young couple will make a short carriage procession to St George’s Hall, where a traditional wedding breakfast attended by all the guests will be hosted by the Queen and Duke of York.

Just 400 select guests will join the newlyweds for a champagne evening party at the family home hosted by Eugenie’s parents, the Royal Lodge in Windsor Great Park. Among those invited are George and Amal Clooney, David and Victoria Beckham, with rumoured performances from Ellie Goulding and Robbie Williams.

Anyone still standing will be invited to return the next day for a ‘festival and funfair’ themed party.

The Cake

Crafted by London-based cake designer Sophie Cabot, has described Eugenie and Jack’s wedding feast as ‘special and unique.’

They have chosen a red velvet and chocolate cake as their treat for guests, featuring rich autumn colours and detailed sugar work.

Unlike Kate and Meghan, Eugenie’s dress is expected to be more fashion forward.

Giving Eugenie’s bold, feminine style, she might wear something from her favourite designer Erdem. Although the dress and designer is kept a close secret until the big day, we can expect the Princess to make a statement with a very different look from Meghan’s slim, tailored look. Perhaps a full skirt, embellishment or a cinched waist.

It’s rumoured Eugenie will wear the York tiara on her big day. The princess’ mother, Sarah, Duchess of York, wore the headpiece during her 1986 wedding to Prince Andrew. Traditionally when brides get married, they normally wear the family tiara.

Honeymoon Plans?

While there have been no official comments on where the couple will honeymoon, however if we could guess. Why not Verbier, the Swiss ski resort where the couple first met and their love story began.

Where can you watch the wedding?

If you weren’t fortunate to have picked up a golden ticket to watch the wedding and carriage procession through the streets of Windsor, fear not.

Windsor Church is meant to hold 800, with Harry and Meghan choosing to only invite 600 guests to their own wedding. Looks like the royals will have to squeeze in a few more chairs.

While the Duke and Duchess of Sussex needed only a single day and night for the first royal wedding of the year in May, Eugenie and her husband to be Jack will stretch their celebrations into a second day after a Friday morning service on October 12th.

After the 11am ceremony, the newlyweds will make a short carriage procession to St George’s Hall, where a traditional wedding breakfast attended by all the guests will be hosted by the Queen and Duke of York.

Eugenie has called upon Peregrine Armstrong-Jones, the Irish celebrity party planner who created the exuberantly extravagant wedding for Posh and Becks back in 1999, at Luttrellstown Castle, Dublin.

Peregrine describes weddings as ‘the ultimate way to show your friends and family how much you value their friendship. Sharing drinks or dinner in fabulous surroundings which create lasting memories form a bond with your friends and family forever.’

We know that with Peregrine’s help, this is set to be another Royal wedding to remember.

The post Married in Chelsea appeared first on Wedding Journal.

]]>
There has been a wave of proposals and marriages hitting the marbled streets of Chelsea.

We take a look at how brides can pull off a Chelsea wedding themselves.

Venues

Glamorous Chelsea Socialites are starting to go old school when it comes to their wedding venues, opting for old country estates and family manors to host their raucous celebrations.

Millie Mackintosh and Hugo Taylor wed at Whithurst Park, the Sussex country estate owned by Hugo’s uncle, back in June. Spencer Matthews celebrated his wedding to Irish TV Presenter Vogue Williams at his stunning family estate Glen Affric in Cannich, Scotland. Meanwhile Spencer’s brother James married Pippa Middleton on the Middleton’s 18 acre grounds of Bucklebury Manor.

For those of us who don’t have the family manor or estate, why not rent out a palace.

Kensington Palace to be exact!

Located within tranquil Kensington Gardens, the palace’s inspiring and romantic wedding venues are some of the most beautiful in London.

There are a number of wonderful spaces inside the palace, with their graceful architecture and flamboyant interiors, from the distinctive Cupola Room to the beautiful Entrance Hall.

The Palace’s beautiful and lush gardens can themselves accommodate outside receptions, whether on a grand scale on the Orangery lawn, or for a more intimate gathering in the Sunken Garden.

With its rich history and unparalleled grandeur, Kensington Palace’s timeless elegance is the perfect place to royally celebrate this your special day.

Photography

Barker Evans was the coveted photographer for Millie and Hugo’s wedding. He has also shot the wedding of Storm and Ronan Keating. He is a much loved destination, party and wedding photographer, with a keen eye for detail, he captures the true love each couple displays on their big day perfectly.

If he is good enough for Mills and Hugo, he’s good enough for us!

Decor

We can’t guarantee the weather in this country, so a new trend set for 2019 sees the outside coming in. Runners of greenery on tables and garlands draped from the beams. Taking note from Kate and Meghan, potted cherry blossom trees, floral arches and hanging baskets as table centres will also be huge this season.

Take a look at what Early Flowers Ltd created for Millie and Hugo, incredible floral displays, including the floral balloon arch, were crafted by the London-based florist known for their creative installations.

This back drop framed the beautiful spot where they shared their vows, and looks absolutely stunning, it’s bound to smell delicious too.

Joseph Benjamin Marquees created the glass marquee space for dinner and dancing; the couple wanted it to have a day-to-night feel.

A Chelsea wedding should be all about wealth and luxury, the canapes should be inventive, cocktails dangerous, and the evening meal to die for.

The Chelsea cast know how to throw one hell of a dinner party, they regularly call on Rose Lloyd Owen and her team at Peardrop London and Fare Healthy to cater for their events. Their clientele list is huge and they’re mix of menu style and flavours will leave every guests asking for more.

Designer Dress

One thing is for sure, to complete the ultimate Chelsea look, a bride must wear a dress by a British designer. Two designers that are set to transform British bridal style are Halfpenny London and Savannah Miller.

The brainchild of Kate Halfpenny, this bridal wear brand fuses Brit cool with sophistication. Designed with the modern-day bride in mind, Kate’s gowns are brought to life in her London studio where intricate beading, exquisite embroidery, lavish French lace, and liquid silks are used to create her signature looks. Celebrating the female form with bold and beautiful fashion statements, Kate’s star-studded clientele is testament to her vivid and vibrant vision.

Sister to Sienna Miller, Savannah is taking the bridal world by storm with her bohemian-inspired ethereal designs. Drawing upon her love of vintage styling and the wild English countryside, her gowns are made in sumptuously rich and textured fabric, paired with simple, flattering lines and elegant silhouettes.

Little Touches

The little details such as decor for the tables, place settings and guest favors. Your guests will notice these as they sit and enjoy their meal.

Miniature bottles of Champagne can be given to each guests as they toast to the happy couple. Or similarly the gift of a signature fragrance will really add a touch of class to your day.

We can’t wait to see how their other cast mates, such as Proudlock and Louise, plan and style their big days!

If you’re like us and still dreaming about Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s royal wedding, fear not, we don’t have long to wait. Another one is happening later this year.

Harry’s cousin, Princess Eugenie is tying the knot to long-time boyfriend Jack Brooksbank. The couple have been together for 7 years, first meeting on a ski trip in Verbier, Swizerland.

Posting on her own official Instagram account, wedding planning has begun! The Princess shared a throwback image of her and her older sister Beatrice as bridesmaids at their former nanny’s wedding.

Here’s everything you’ll need to know about the couple’s upcoming nuptials.

Date & Venue

Princess Eugenie of York, who is eighth in line to the throne, will tie the knot on October 12, 2018.

Most people may associate royal weddings with Westminster Abbey, but St. George’s Chapel has been hosting its own I do’s since King Edward VII married Princess Alexandra of Denmark in 1863.

More recently, it was the venue for Peter Philipps (Eugenie’s cousin) and Autumn Kelly’s wedding in 2008, Prince Charles and Camilla Parker Bowles’ marriage blessing in 2005 and Prince Edward (Eugenie’s uncle) and Sophie Rhys-Jones’ wedding in 1999.

The Proposal

Brooksbank popped the question to Eugenie in early January 2018 during a romantic trip t Nicaragua.

“We had a beautiful volcano, (the) sun was setting, and birds were flying.” He told BBC in a joint interview with his fiancée.

Eugenie reflects “the light was just a special light that I’d never seen before. I actually said ‘This is an incredible moment, and then he popped the question.”

It’s not known if Jack purposefully selected the ring to emulate Eugenie’s mother’s but there’s a definite resemblance among the two.

Who will get an invite?

Eugenie and Jack are expected to have a smaller guest list than the 600 invited by Harry and Meghan thanks to their weekday wedding date.

Key members of the royal family such as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, Prince Charles and Queen Elizabeth will likely all attend.

Harry and Meghan will also probably be there, the newlyweds narrowly avoiding a clash of dates with the Invictus Games starting in Sydney a week later.

While the guest list probably won’t include the likes of Oprah Winfrey or Serena Williams, there should be some celebrity spotting on the day. Growing up on the English social scene, Eugenie is friends with Ellie Goulding, Cara Delevingne, Sienna Miller, Margot Robbie, Ed Sheeran and James Blunt.

Who will be in the Bridal Party?

Eugenie will most likely follow Kate Middleton’s style and have her sister Princess Beatrice as maid of honour. The bride to be is incredibly close to her older sibling, with the two royals are less than two years apart in age.

Alongside Beatrice as bridesmaid, Prince George and Princess Charlotte will perhaps serve as a page boy and flower girl.

A Dress Fit for a Princess

Given Eugenie and her sister Beatrice’s fashion senses have been hit and miss over the years, her choice of dress is certain to be a highlight of the wedding.

Will the Newlyweds receive a Royal Title?

The 28-year-old will have the option of keeping her royal title or getting rid of it altogether.

Or she could use both, and be styled HRH Princess Eugenie, Mrs Brooksbank, or she could also choose to take her husband’s surname officially.

We cannot wait!

A global audience of millions tuned in on Saturday 19th May 2018, to watch Prince Harry and his American bride Meghan Markle tie the knot in a spectacular fairy-tale wedding at St George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle…

In what was a day filled with glorious sunshine, Harry and Meghan captured the hearts of the nation as they said their vows at midday in an emotional ceremony in front of 600 guests including A-list celebrities and senior royals.

The wedding certainly lived up to the hype, and we’re still obsessing over her beautiful wedding dress, that tender moment at the altar and the incredible floral arch. We re-cap all the key points of this historic day…

The Morning

Guests began arriving shortly after 9.30am, where we got to do some serious style spotting as well as getting to see some famous faces take their seats in St.George’s Chapel.

The bride and her mother – Doria Ragland – left Cliveden House Hotel at 11.10 where we got the first glimpse of Meghan in her breathtaking dress and Veil! Whilst on the 8 mile drive, the royal family along with Prince William and Harry arrived at 11.30am.

Ms Markle and her mum were then driven up the Long Walk in a Rolls-Royce Phantom IV before they headed up the castle gates and towards the chapel. The bride was then accompanied by two page boys her held up her train as she made her way up the steps where she was greeted by Prince Charles who accompanied her down the aisle.

The Ceremony

In a highly emotive and beautiful ceremony, we saw the new Duke and Duchess of Sussex exchange vows and rings in front of their nearest and dearest. As they met at the altar, Prince Harry told his bride ‘you look amazing, I’m so lucky’ before tenderly holding hands and exchanging smiles (Be still our beating hearts!).

The service was primarily conducted by the Dean of Windsor, and the marriage was solemnized by the Archbishop of Canterbury. However, from the colourful address by Reverend Michael Curry to the Gospel Kingdom Choir singing ‘Stand By Me’, it was clear that the couple had put immense thought and care into ensuring that the service represented them in equal parts, with elements paying tribute to Meghan’s African American heritage.

An orchestra made up of instrumentalists from the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, the English Chamber Orchestra and the Philharmonia performed, as well as a performance from 19 year-old cellist Sheku Kanneh-Mason.

The couple left the chapel before standing under the INCREDIBLE floral arch where we got to witness that kiss! They then proceeded to the carriage for their procession around Windsor town.

The Evening Reception

The celebrations came to an end in a black-tie wedding dinner staged at Frogmore House – which was hosted by Prince Charles- for 200 of the couple’s friends and family. It is reported that James Corden acted as compere.

We got a glimpse at Meghan & Harry’s second outfit choice of the day, as Harry donned a dapper tuxedo whilst Megan looked sensational in a simple crepe halter-neck dress by Stella McCartney.

The Details

The Cake

The wedding cake was designed by Claire Ptak and features elderflower syrup made at The Queen’s residence in Sandringham from the estate’s own elderflower trees, as well as a light sponge cake uniquely formulated for the couple. A filling was made from Amalfi lemon curd and elderflower buttercream to tie all the elements together. The cake was decorated with Swiss meringue buttercream and 150 fresh flowers, mainly British, and in season, including peonies and roses.

The Flowers

London-based florist Philippa Craddock worked with Harry and Meghan on the flower arrangements for their wedding, and she reportedly used “branches of beech, birch and hornbeam, along with white garden roses, peonies and foxgloves”. The floral arch at St Georges Chapel was undoubtedly stunning and it was certainly a talking point of the day!

Harry’s mother princess Diana was honoured in a simple and thoughtful way in the ceremony by her favourite flower being included in Meghan’s bouquet. The bouquet included forget-me-nots in tribute to Diana, scented sweet peas, lily of the valley, astilbe, jasmine, astrantia and sprigs of myrtle. Prince Harry reportedly picked the flowers the day before the wedding in their private garden in Kensington Palace.

The Bride

Meghan looked out-of-this-world in her hotly anticipated wedding dress, which was designed by British designer Clare Waight-Keller for Givenchy. Embodying everything that is pure, classic, regal and elegant, the dress featured a boat-neck style and three-quarter length sleeves. It was made from double bonded silk and was brilliant white in colour – bridal beauty and simplicity at its finest!

Ms Markle’s dramatic veil was 16ft long and was made from silk tulle, with a trim of 53 hand-embroidered flowers in silk threads to represent each of the 53 countries as part of the commonwealth. Her hair was styled by Serge Normant, while her long-time friend and make-up artist Daniel Martin did her makeup.

Her hair was styled in a chic messy bun up-do, and the look was completed by the glittering Queen Mary’s Diamond Bandeau tiara, loaned to her by the Queen.

The Groom

Prince William joined his younger brother at the altar as his best man, and they both looked handsome in their Blues and Royals. Before the wedding, Kensington Palace released a statement saying that on his wedding day Prince Harry would wear his military uniform, selecting to wear the frockcoat uniform of the Blues and Royals. It is understood the Queen gave her permission for Prince Harry to get married in his uniform.

The Blues and Royals is a cavalry regiment in the British Army that was formed in 1969m, and the frockcoats worn by the brothers were tailored at Dege & Skinner on Savile Row.

The Guests

We saw a host of famous faces at the royal wedding, with Meghan’s former co-stars on the series ‘Suits’ in attendance including Patrick J. Adams, Sarah Rafferty, Rick Hoffman, Gabriel Macht and Gina Torres. Kate’s sister Pippa also made her first appearance after her wedding, after announcing she was expecting her first child with her husband.

All senior members of the royal family were of course in attendance including HRH the Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, Prince Charles, Camilla, Prince William, The Duchess of Cambridge and all of their extended royal family. Kate made her first public appearance following the birth of her third child Prince Louis last month and she looked sophisticated in a cream/off-yellow Alexander McQueen Coat dress with matching headpiece.

Celebrity guests at the wedding included Amal and George Clooney, Victoria and David Beckham, Idris Elba, Oprah Winfrey, Serena Williams, Carrie Mulligan and James Cordon.

The Little Ones

The palace made the announcement before the big day that there would be six bridesmaids and four page boys.

The bridal party is made up of Princess Charlotte, 3, Florence Van Custem, 3 (the goddaughter of Prince Harry, Meghan’s goddaughters Remi Litt 6, Ryland Litt 7, Prince Harry’s goddaughter Zalie Warren, 2, and the daughter of Meghan’s friend Jessica , Ivy, 4. Clare Waight Keller – who designed Meghan Markle’s wedding dress – also created the dresses for the six bridesmaids in the Givenchy Haute Couture Atelier in Paris.

Page boys included Brian and John Mulroney, 7, Prince George, 4 and Prince Harry’s godson Jasper Dyer, 6.

A team of talented local women took on the challenge to recreate Meghan’s wedding dresses within 24-hours and here they chat to Wedding Journal about how they did it!

Local Newry-based designer Shauna Fay is a well-known for her amazing dress designs and a woman who likes and challenge, she decided to have a go at recreating Meghan’s wedding dress!

‘A few of us had toyed with the idea and thought it might be a bit of fun. MaryRose McGrath had previously recreated Kate’s wedding dress within a 24-hour period and once we heard she wouldn’t be doing the same this time around we decided to go for it.

‘So, on Thursday before the wedding I ordered the material and luckily it arrived on Friday or the whole thing might have stopped before it started!

It was about 2pm after my last client left that I was able to start of Meghan’s wedding dress. For her dress I used a Mikado satin and working with Sharon throughout the night had it finished by 5am the next morning and then I decided to have a go at the second wedding dress she wore for the evening reception.

‘For this dress I used a triple crepe fabric and recreated this elegant halter neck style, which was accessorised for our photoshoot with a three stone engagement ring and large aquamarine cocktail ring from Jack Murphy Jewellers.

‘I loved both of Meghan’s dresses. This would be my own personal style as I am a fan of a classic, fuss-free wedding dress. Meghan will certainly never look back with regret at her wedding day style,’ adds Shauna. Who goes on to say, ‘Working with me on the veil, Sharon from Elody Bride arrived to my studio with a selection of she was able to get to work after all was revealed at 12.05pm on Saturday!’

While Shauna was anxious about the amount of work that might be needed if Meghan went for a Ralph and Russo design as was predicted, Sharon wasn’t expecting all of the detail to be in the veil! ‘I did take a deep breath when I saw it, but I knew we could do it,’ comments Sharon. ‘So, with four of us cutting lace to replicate the flowers on Meghan’s veil which represent the 53 commonwealth countries, we got to work and had our replica within 24-hours as promised.’

‘Obviously, Meghan’s own veil will have taken weeks to make with those hand-embroidered flowers, but I think we did a pretty good job in the time frame!’ adds Sharon.

Sharon will take the veil of your choice – whatever your length and style and customise it to make sure you have a veil that is personal to you. ‘The bride simply has to bring her dress with her and I can make the veil that she wants,’ explains Sharon. Who adds laughing, ‘ As long as she gives me more than the 24 hours Shauna did!’

As for the tiara, milliner Donna Mackin took on the challenge of recreating the one Meghan would wear. As Donna explains, ‘With a tight turnaround, I had tried to think of what would be need to recreate this beforehand, but I could never have predicted the exact one she would have chosen.

‘After seeing it and taking 10 minutes to think about how best to recreate it, I felt confident I could do it and began pulling different diamanté pieces together and building the tiara which was anchored by the fabulous 50k diamond in the centre which was the idea of Gemma Murphy of Jack Murphy Jewellers and finished it off beautifully for the shoot.’

‘I’ve already had brides contacting me for a similar look, so the ‘Meghan-effect’ is already in full force and now I have done it once I know I can recreate it again and in various styles that will suit my brides and their overall look,’ adds Donna.

Helping to pull all of their hard work together for the photoshoot on Sunday 20th May, the floral arch erected at Newry Cathedral and the bouquet were the work of Martina Crilly Creative Designs and the hair was recreated by Suzanne from Chocolate Blonde Hair Couture and make-up by Rosemary Wright, with all being captured on camera by photographer Rashida Keenan.

Cleo Parkinson was the Megan lookalike known to Shauna who agreed to model the looks, which she does to perfection.

‘We are all so proud of how it all came together and the finished looks. It was hard work, but great fun for all of us,’ adds Shauna.

The Dream Team: Dresses by Shauna Fay, veil by Sharon Patterson from Elody Bride, tiara from milliner Donna Mackin, floral arch by Martina Crilly Creative Designs, make-up by Rosemary Wright , hair by Suzanne Strain Wilshaw from Chocolate Blonde Hair Couture and photography by Rashida Keenan.

The new Duchess of Sussex looked absolutely radiant on her wedding day and make-up artist Rosemary Wright of Ashburn Image tells Wedding Journal what she thought of her look and how to recreate it.

‘Personally, I loved Meghan’s make-up,’ comments Rosemary. ‘It was soft and subtle. A glamorous look, but she wore the make-up, it didn’t wear her!’

‘To be fair, more and more local brides that I have been working with are looking for a softer, more natural look. For example, rather than the strip lashes, we are using more single lashes to had volume without being too heavy.

‘On the day, Meghan was confident in her own skin, she’s done the red carpet glamour and this softer, more natural look was just perfect for her wedding day.’

Rosemary’s Advice On Getting The Look

Rosemary explains how she achieved Meghan’s bridal make-up on lookalike model Cleo Parkinson:

‘On Cleo’s skin I primed the skin with a Tom Ford primer and then mixed a bit of sheer primer into the foundation to create the same soft, dewy look as Meghan. I slightly powdered the T-zone, did a bit of soft conturing and used a soft, peachy highlighter with a peach blush on the apples of her cheeks.

‘For the eyes, I opted for a soft, light grey/brown as a transition colour and added a soft, sheer gold/brown shadow on the lid. I added a few single lashes, no eyeliner and softly swept and blended the transition colour below the eye. I only filled the brows in slightly.

‘For the lips, I didn’t use liner, adding colour with a pink Laura Mercier pencil lipstick. Meghan seemed to go on step darker with her lip colour for her evening reception, but the rest of her make-up look appeared to stay the same.’

The Professional Touch

Meghan’s look may appear to be simple and natural, but it will have been expertly applied.

‘Even as I was working on our model Cleo, that is what she was saying, that so much work actually goes into achieving what appears to be an effortless make-up look.

‘The structure and finish of a natural bridal make-up like this still needs a professional touch, especially when you want it to look flawless and last all day,’ advises Rosemary.

Rosemary was part of a local team of women who recently recreated Meghan’s look which included the two dresses by Shauna Fay, the veil by Sharon Patterson from Elody Bride, tiara from milliner Donna Mackin, floral arch by Martina Crilly Creative Designs and hair by Suzanne Strain Wilshaw from Chocolate Blonde Hair Coutureand photography by Rashida Keenan.

The countdown to the royal wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle – which takes place tomorrow, Saturday 19th May – is well and truly on…

But for those of us not lucky enough to be on the guest list or among the 2,460 members of the public invited to Windsor Castle on the big day, the next best thing is to watch this momentous occasion live on television whilst having a little royal soiree!

We’ve rounded up a guide on how to celebrate the royal wedding, and all the party supplies you’ll need to plan your own British-inspired bash. Whether you want a cute keep-sake to mark the occasion, or you want to host your own party find out all you need to know here…

How to watch

As with previous royal weddings and milestone celebrations, there will be hours of coverage streamed live from the lawns of Windsor Castle and St George’s Chapel nave. In the UK, the BBC, Sky News and ITV cover the big day with big-name presenters anchoring the coverage. Dermot O’Leary and Kirsty Young will be leading live coverage on the BBC from 9am until 2pm from around Winsdor Castle’s moat.

On ITV, Phillip Schofield and Julie Etchingham will be presenting from a specially constructed studio in Windsor which will begin at 9.25am running until 3pm.

We recommend starting early to catch a glimpse of the wedding guest style and any famous faces that arrive!

The Decor

This is a momentous occasion for British history, so it’s only natural that you should follow suit with the country and purchase some patriotic party supplies! Balloons, buntings, tablecloths, confetti, paper plates, cups, flags and cutlery have all gone on sale ahead of the big day and in true British form, the colours red, white and blue are key themes.

Some shops, such as partypacks.co.uk, partyrama.co.uk, theworks.co.uk, zazzle.co.uk are all selling royal wedding themed decorations as well as large chain supermarkets. But you don’t have to splash out – you can also make your own.

Memorabilia as favours

As well as party supplies, many shops are also selling some gorgeous memorabilia with photos of the royal couple. With everything from tea towels, playing cards, magnets, mugs and keyrings you name it and they’ll be a souvenir! put a little money aside to purchase some memorabilia for you to keep, and opt for cheaper goodies that guests can take home as a little souvenir of the big day.

The Food & Drink

If you’re hosting a little royal celebration, you’ll need to think about a menu. One option could be to host a sophisticated British afternoon tea with cucumber and coronation sandwiches, scones with jam and cream, sponge cake and delicious delicatessens! Weather permitting you could also have a BBQ for close family and friends to include some American favourites in honour of the bride: think mini hot dogs, beef burger sliders, cookies and cupcakes!

Not forgetting the drinks, consider elegant elderflower water, Pimms, tea and of course champagne to toast the happy couple!

What’s more, following the wedding, football fans can delight in an afternoon watching the FA Cup Final, so what better day to have an excuse to make a day out if it, whip out the bunting and whisk-up some baked goods!

Or, if you prefer a chilled one with the girls but are still in those wedding spirits put on some wedding dresses and sip on some fizz like Phoebe, Monica and Rachel from friends! No better way to watch the royal wedding if you ask us…

With only TWO DAYS to go until the Royal Wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, final preparations and rehearsals for the big day are no doubt underway. On Saturday 19th May, the couple will marry in the grounds of Windsor Castle – here are all the details, and what we know about the big day so far…

The Wedding Service

The wedding service will begin at 12pm in St George’s Chapel in the grounds of Windsor Castle, where Prince Harry was christened. The church service, associated music, flowers, decorations and reception, will be paid for by the Royal Family, with Ms Markle’s mother Doria Ragland set to attend.

Just like the Duchess of Cambridge did, Ms Markle, is unlikely to opt to obey the prince. They will probably choose the Series One (1966) Book of Common Prayer ceremony, which allows the bride to drop ‘obey him’ and ‘serve him’ from the religious proceedings.

The wedding party includes the Duke of Cambridge, who has now been confirmed as Harry’s best man, Prince George and Princess Charlotte look likely to take the roles of page boy and flower girl. Ms Markle may also choose one or two of her closest friends as bridesmaids.

The traditional ceremony will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, The Rt Revd. David Conner while the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby, will officiate as the couple make their marriage vows.

The Procession

The wedding service will end at 1pm, and the newlyweds will then leave the castle by carriage. Prince Harry and Meghan will be driven for two miles along Castle Hill, the High Street and into Windsor town centre before returning along the beautiful, tree-lined Long Walk for the reception.

In a statement released by Kensington Palace, they said: “Prince Harry and Ms Markle are very much looking forward to this short journey which they hope will be a memorable moment for everyone who has gathered together in Windsor to enjoy the atmosphere of this special day.”

The Wedding Invitations

The invitations were produced by Barnard & Westwood, die-stamped in gold and then burnished. The invitation features The Three Feather Badge of The Prince of Wales and have been posted to approximately 600 guests with a select 200 close friends invited to an after party at Frogmore House, Windsor. Some members of the public have received an invitation to wait in the grounds outside the chapel to watch the bride and groom and their wedding guests arrive and leave.

The Dress Code

The dress code for guests was revealed on the invitations, with guests being asked to wear Uniform, Morning Coat or Lounge Suit, or Day Dress with Hat.

The Wedding Dress

The wedding dress has been widely speculated, and with such a stylish bride we know it will be worth waiting for! It has been reported that the former actress will walk down the aisle in a £100,000 wedding dress designed by Ralph & Russo, the same designer she wore for her engagement photo shoot with Prince Harry. The British couture company Ralph & Russo are tipped as one of the favourites to design her dress, as well as Burberry and Erdem.

The Wedding Reception

Once the carriage ride after the service to greet the crowds, Harry and Meghan will attend the first of two wedding receptions in St George’s Hall. This is a more formal reception hosted by the Queen for the 600 guests in attendance.

The second evening reception, for 200 close friends and family, will be thrown at Frogmore House by the Prince of Wales. This is where the couple posed for their official engagement photos.

The Wedding Cake

The wedding cake is not the traditional fruit cake, but an organic lemon and elderflower cake made by Claire Ptak, owner of Violet Bakery in Hackney, east London. It will be covered with buttercream and decorated with fresh flowers. Perfect for a beautiful spring wedding!

The Wedding Flowers

The wedding flowers are to be designed by high society florist Philippa Craddock, named by British Vogue as the ‘Queen of London florists’. Ms Craddock will create floral displays using seasonal plants and flowers from the Crown Estates and Royal Parks. Peonies are known to be one of Ms Markle’s favourite flowers and as they are in season in May are likely to be used.

The Wedding Speeches

Everyone is now aware that Ms Markle is expected to give a speech, as will Prince Harry. Whether Ms Markle’s father will speak we don’t know, as he may prefer to avoid the spotlight, however, he will be walking her down the aisle. Others expected to speak include the best man and the groom’s father, Prince Charles.

New Royal Titles

Ms Markle will become an HRH and a senior royal after marrying Harry. Like Kate, she is also expected to become a duchess. Harry is expected to receive the title of the Duke of Sussex, therefore Meaghan would become HRH The Duchess of Sussex.

Mr Markle

It has been reported by the BBC that Mr Thomas Markle Snr will now NOT be attending the wedding of Prince Harry & Meghan. Kensington Palace has called for ‘understanding and respect’ to be extended to Mr Markle, 73, who was due to walk his daughter down the aisle on Saturday, but has reportedly decided to stay away due to controversy that he ‘staged’ photographs for press.

US celebrity site TMZ reported that the retired TV lighting director has decided not to attend as he ‘doesnt want to embarrass the royal family or his daughter’. It is also claimed he suffered a heart attack last week. A Kensington Palace spokesman said: “This is a deeply personal moment for Ms Markle in the days before her wedding. She and Prince Harry ask again for understanding and respect to be extended to Mr Markle in this difficult situation.

Meghan is understood to be extremely distressed and concerned about her father’s wellbeing but hoping he can be persuaded to change his mind. We are hoping for Meghan’s sake – who is a self-confessed daddy’s girl- that Mr Markle is on the mend and will be fit to attend his daughters big day this weekend.

As we approach the big day, we at Wedding Journal HQ are hosting ROYAL WEEK! With a week dedicated to all things royal, be sure to check back and keep up-to-date with any further details that come to light! The countdown is ON…

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry have made it clear from their engagement interview, that they wanted Princess Diana to have a big role on their wedding day on May 19th, but royal experts have predicted how Prince Harry’s beloved mother may be included…

It is thought that Meghan WILL wear ‘something borrowed’ from the dazzling Jewellery collection of Princess Diana when she walks down the aisle to Harry at St George’s Chapel, in honour of her late mother-in-law and in keeping with royal tradition. And with two of the diamonds in Meghan’s engagement ring being from Diana’s personal collection of Jewellery, we predict there will be something extra special for the big day!

Former royal butler and commentator, Grant Harold told the Mail Online:

“For Prince Harry, one of the most important and influential people of this life- his mother- will of course not be there to participate in his special day…This would be very poignant, and a very personal thing between the young couple, and it would symbolically allow his mother to be part of this magical day”

It has been speculated that Meghan may accessorize her bridal gown with Diana’s family Tiara- the Spencer Tiara- which hasn’t been worn in public since Diana’s tragic death in 1997. Diana wore the stunning headpiece at her wedding to Prince Charles in 1981, however many think that the star won’t choose this iconic tiara…

Jewellery editorial writer Ella Kay spoke to Town & Country saying: “I think it’s unlikely because Meghan is marrying into the Windsor family, not the Spencer family, so if she borrows a tiara, I think it will reflect her new royal status”

Of course there are also a number of other pieces that former actress Meghan, 36, may choose to wear from Diana’s beautiful collection, including the Qatar Diamond and Pearl Earrings given to her as a wedding gift by the Emir of Qatar, for the royal wedding. There is also the option of her South-Sea Pearl earrings, or diamond and sapphire suite from the Sultan of Oman (which would also count as Meghan’s ‘something blue’ on the big day!).

In addition to wearing one of these sentimental pieces of jewellery, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are reported to have chosen flowers for their wedding that has a special significance to Princess Diana – white garden roses. According to the BBC, these beautiful white flowers will sit alongside Meghan’s favourite flower peonies and foxgloves.

With just under a month to go, we are certainly counting down the days until the royal wedding here at Wedding Journal HQ!

As excitement reaches fever pitch in the days leading up to Harry and Meghan’s big day, it seems even the Royal couple with unlimited access to wedding planners, courtiers and the best bridal professionals, can run into trouble along the way.

Karyn Seery, wedding co-ordinator with Cavan’s Crover House Hotel has shared some of her top-tip for couples hoping to plan the perfect wedding…

Choose your bridal party wisely. Their role is to support you and ensure that you have a magical day. As Meghan knows, even those closest to you can end up letting you down. Avoid this by being very clear with your bridal party about what is expected of them, their responsibilities and duties for the ceremony and reception.

Always do hair and make-up trials. You want to feel like a princess on your wedding day. Many salons offer a trial service, so don’t be disappointed on the day. Liaise with your hairdresser and make-up artist on the products that they will use to ensure that they are compatible with your skin type and get samples for touch-ups during the day.

Never listen to gossip. If someone tells you something negative don’t allow uncertainty to fester and cause uneasiness. A good wedding co-ordinator will be your confidant, friend and back up so let them in on any qualms you have to allow them to take care of it and ensure that you have the most fabulous day.

Ask your co-ordinator for a full written breakdown of the agreed plan for the day so there are no surprises.

With up to 2,640 guests invited to the Royal wedding, a 25 minute procession through London, a reception in St George’s Hall and a private party to follow, Harry and Meghan won’t have a moment to themselves. Karyn advises couples to use the ‘call for dinner’ time wisely. Spend this time with each other. It’s your day, people will want your attention all day, but remember to spend it with each other too – You’ve just got married!

One of Ireland’s most beautiful waterside wedding venues, Cavan’s four-star Crover House Hotel rests majestically on the private shores of Lough Sheelin. Conveniently located just over an hour from Dublin, with breath-taking lake views and 40 acres of meticulously landscaped grounds, the Georgian Manor House offers an elegant setting for your wedding day with stunning photography locations and exceptional service.

Karyn and the team at Crover House Hotel would like to wish Harry and Meghan a lifetime of love and happiness together.

With the world eagerly awaiting the upcoming wedding of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle and industry experts making their predictions on what gown Miss Markle may wear, we can’t help but to reminisce over the royal wedding of 2011.

Prince William married Kate Middleton in Westminster Abbey on April 29th and not only did the world fall in love with the royal love story, but we also fell in love with her incredible wedding dress!

The infamous royal wedding dress was designed by Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen, and featured a breathtaking combination of satin, lace and intricate detailing to make an iconic design that epitomized the Duchess’s elegance and sophistication. This gown cost a cool £250,000, but now you can get the look for a fraction of the cost at high street store H&M!

Joining the likes of Topshop, Dorothy Perkins and French Connection, H&M is the latest high-street store to launch an affordable range of wedding and bridesmaid dresses that won’t break the bank. And lucky for brides-to-be, the Scandinavian retailer has launched a gown that is a pretty good dupe of the Duchess of Cambridge’s gown at the 2011 royal wedding. Featuring a similar scalloped lace v-neck, delicate long sleeves, boned structure and an A-line skirt, this gown is certainly a doppelganger! And what’s more, the price tag is also impressive, retailing at only £149/€170 leaving you lots of extra cash to splash on the rest of the celebrations!

For many brides, the dress is a fundamental feature of their special day, but with the average cost of weddings soaring to £27,161, it comes as no surprise that couples are looking for ways to cut back. And whilst this gown is missing the 2.7m train that was seen on Kate’s luxury design, we reckon at £149 this H&M wedding gown is a steal!

Prince Harry and Meghan Markle’s wedding day is just shy of 12 weeks away and details of the royal occasion have been rolling in.

As we all now know, the wedding will take place in St Georges Chapel a mere six months after Harry romantically popped the question to Meghan. The pair have certainly been busy planning for the finer details of their nuptials, with further details being revealed to the public this morning…

The Marriage Service

It has been announced that the marriage service, in the castle’s 15th Century St George’s Chapel, will be conducted by the Dean of Windsor, the Right Rev David Conner, before making their wedding vows in front of the Archbishop of Canterbury, Justin Welby. Kensington Palace have confirmed that the service will last one hour, beginning at 12pm and finishing at 1pm.

The Parade

It has been revealed that Prince Harry and Meghan will go embark on a ‘carriage procession’ through Windsor after tying the knot, giving eagerly awaiting fans and locals a glimpse of the royal couple. In a similar fashion to Wills & Kate’s wedding in 2011, the newlyweds will make a two hour journey after the ceremony, which will pass through six streets before returning to Windsor Castle, according to details released by Kensington Palace.

They will travel down Castle Hill, along the High Street and then along Sheet Street, King’s Road and Albert Road, before returning to the castle along the Long Walk. Following the parade, Prince Harry and Meghan will re-join guests from the ceremony, with a reception at St. George’s Hall before Prince Charles hosts a party for the couple in the evening, as he did at William and Kate’s wedding in 2011.

In yet another break with traditional Royal bride-to-be Meghan Markle is expected to choose her mum Doria Ragland, to walk her down the aisle.
A source close to the couple told US Weekly Magazine, “I’ve heard that Meghan
wants her mother to talk her down the aisle, which would be a sweet moment.”
The couple who have already been reported as saying they do not want a royal
wedding by numbers are expected to make their day in May very much their own
and about close friends and family.
Though still to be confirmed, whether Markle,, the move would break royal tradition. Kate
Middleton walked arm in arm with her father, Michael, at her royal wedding to Prince
William in 2011, and Princess Diana was joined by her dad John Spencer, 8th Earl Spencer, when she tied the knot to Prince Charles in 1981.
Their fresh and exciting romance has united the nation and all eyes will be firmly on them
over the next few months as plans for the big day come together.
Prince Harry has already spent plenty of time with Markle’s mother, including his appearance with her and Meghan at the Invictus Games in October, when he reportedly asked Ragland for her permission to marry her daughter.
She’s “amazing,” the prince revealed of his future mother-in-law during their first engagement interview.
Harry also revealed he’s only spoken to Meghan’s father a few times and has yet to meet him. Thomas Markle, however, previously expressed interest in walking his daughter down the aisle. In December, during an interview with a Mexican newspaper, he said he’d “love to” give his daughter away at the ceremony Reuters reports.
Meghan was raised by both of her parents in LA, but they divorced when she was six years
old. After they split, she lived with her mom, who is a yoga instructor and social worker.
