From signature late night snacks to personalising your wedding wardrobe, here are some celebrity wedding ideas you can steal for your own day!

When we think of celebrity weddings, we usually picture grand and glamourous events which cost millions. But just because you aren’t rich and famous, doesn’t mean you can can’t steal some ideas from your favourite celebrities!

We’ve zoned in on the finer details of these celebrity weddings and found lots of fun and quirky ideas that can really personalise your day and make it stand out from the rest. So without further ado, let’s take a look at some of these fresh trends that you might want to incorporate into your own celebration…

Personalised Late Night Snacks

If you remember The Cheeta Girls growing up, then you’ll know Adrienne Houghton who played the character Chanel AKA Chuchie from the hit Disney movie. Adrienne, who is also a singer and TV presenter, married Israel Houghton in 2016 with a grand Paris wedding.

For the after party, they surprised their guests with personalised pizza boxes that had their wedding date, names and logo made from their initials. We love this idea!

Wed At Home

If you’re the kind of bride and groom that wants a glamourous yet private celebration, why not opt for an at home wedding like some of our favourite celebs? Ariana Grande married her husband Dalton Gomez with a secret wedding in their California home in 2021 with just 20 guests. Ellen Degeneres also tied the knot at home to wife Portia in 2008.

Okay granted their homes are probably more like a palace, but that doesn’t mean you can’t get creative and decorate your own house with a beautiful ceremony set up and florals to really set the scene. All you need are some great wedding suppliers who can bring your ideas to life!

Micro Wedding Cakes

Although many celebrities go all out when it comes to their wedding cake, Gwyneth Paltrow and Brad Falchuk took a more subtle approach with these adorable mini wedding cakes (or micro wedding cakes) with different flavours for each of their guests.

This is a great idea to steal if you want something different than a traditional wedding cake and your guests are sure to love the choice of different flavours!

Mother Walking You Down The Aisle

When it comes to wedding traditions, the bride’s father is who should usually give the bride away. But for many people, this isn’t an option due to a deceased loved one, a father who is not around or the person who has been there for them the most is not a father figure or a male. In 2018, Priyanka Chopra’s mother walked her down the aisle to marry Nick Jonas as her father had passed away years prior.

This just goes to show you that you don’t need to stick to this tradition and if you have a certain female in your life, whether it is a mother, auntie or a friend, they can walk you down the aisle and it can be just as special. We love both takes on this!

Bridal Separates

Looking for an alternative to a traditional wedding dress but still want that bridal look? Take some inspiration from Olivia Palermo and rock a two piece set or bridal separates. Olivia wore a Carolina Herrera cashmere sweater with a sheer skirt, worn over a pair of tailored shorts – yes, shorts! She completed the look with a pair of blue Manolo Blahnik heels.

Bridal seperates and two pieces are a big bridal trend at the moment and can look beautiful for the ceremony or the reception if you want to switch things up!

Multiple Wedding Dresses

If you can afford it, we say go wild when it comes to your wedding wardrobe and get one, two or three looks if your heart desires! Paris Hilton is the perfect example of this with rumours saying she had 10 gowns for her wedding in 2021 to Carter Reum – but we only counted four!

Bridal Capes

Lily Collins reminded us how much we love bridal capes when she married Charlie McDowell in 2021 wearing a hooded cape and lace gown by Ralph Lauren. The stunning accessory was a mix between a veil and cape and definitely stole the show!

Serena Williams also wore a cape at her wedding in 2017 over a dramatic, strapless Sarah Burton for Alexander McQueen princess gown. Beyonce’s sister, Solange Knowles is another celebrity who rocked a cape to her all white wedding in 2014 to Alan Ferguson.

Woodland Wedding

As well as Lily Collins adorable bridal cape, we were also obsessed with her woodland wedding theme in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado. Ireland is home to some amazing outdoor wedding venues that are perfect for summer (if the weather is right!)

Embroidered Veils

Hailey Baldwin’s personlised wedding veil (click right on the Instagram post to see) broke the internet when she released the photos from her wedding to Justin Bieber in 2018. The embroidered veil spelled out ‘TIL DEATH DO US PART’ and looked amazing with her all-over lace wedding dress designed by Virgil Abloah.

We’ve some more and more brides jump on this embroidered veil trend and we’re loving the personal touch it gives to your wedding wardrobe.

Say ‘YES’ In A Mini Dress

One of the most unique celebrity weddings of 2022 so far goes to Kourtney Kardashian and Travis Barker who firstly married in a court house before celebrating with an Italian goth-inspired wedding! Kourtney wore a white mini dress to the alter, showing us that a short wedding dress isn’t just for the after party!

Black Is The New White

We can’t NOT mention Kourtney’s iconic black mini dress for her second gothic celebration in Italy! A bold choice for a wedding which not everyone was loving on social media. However, if you love black more than white, we say go for it!

Tea-Length Wedding Dress

Zoë Kravitz wore an unconventional and tea-length wedding dress in 2019 when she married actor Karl Glusman. She shared photos on Instagram of the dress designed by Alexander Wang which featured a drop-waist, tea-length and a scooped neck.

Very Audrey Hepburn! We think our vintage brides will love this look.

Wedding Weekend

Why have one wedding day when you can have a wedding weekend? Although a celebrity wedding weekend like Brooklyn Beckham and Nicola Peltz‘s probably cost a fortune, you can make an affordable wedding weekend with a hotel stay in your venue with family and friends that includes welcome drinks, the ceremony, an after party and a farewell brunch!

The great thing about this is there are more chances to change up your look if you want to go for multiple bridal styles! Make sure to check out our latest magazine where we show you what to wear for your wedding weekend HERE!

Personal Touches To Your Wedding Wardrobe

Pixie Lott looked stunning at her recent wedding to Oliver Cheshire wearing an ivory Schiaparelli ballgown designed by Daniel Roseberry that featured pearl embellished detailing, sheer sleeves and a dramatic 4.5 meter long train. What many people didn’t know is that the dress had a secret four leaf clover sewn into the inside with their wedding date for good luck.

Another celebrity who went a little more out there when it came to personalising their wedding wardrobe was Angelina Jolie when she married Brad Pitt in 2014. She wore an Atelier Versace dress with bespoke drawings by their children through the train and veil.

Whether it’s a subtle or a statement-making detail, there are so many ways to personalise your bridal look!
